| Ooo, sorry to disrupt the game, but back when I used to read I loved Kate Chopin. During the winter term I assigned "The Story of an Hour" to one of my classes--a short, beautiful story (and the ideas were quite socially challenging in its day). I'm not that well-read, though. Isn't The Invisible Man written by Ralph Ellison? | |

| Hmm... after a google search, I have found that there are two "Invisible Man" books - one written by Ralph Ellison, and one written by HG Wells. So I guess you could say either one. Quicker than the Eye - Rad Bradbury One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest |

| Actually, just to be the biggest nerd on the planet for a few moments, The Invisible Man was written by H.G. Wells. Just plain Invisible Man (with no "The") was written by Ralph Ellison. Um, yeah, so now that I've cleared that up. As you were. ![]()

| Thanks Paulie. I did leave the "The" out when I posted it (it's sitting right in front of me). I'm curious - is the one by Wells the inspiration for the man who turns invisible (i.e. bad Chevy Chase movies or Hollow Man)?

| HAZY I can't believe someone wrote "Keri Hulme" so quickly! She is one of my favorites, and not many seem to know her. (I read The Bone People before the Great Book Hiatus.)Thanks, Paulie and boredouttamind, for clearing that up. | |
