    A sleeper movie is one that didn't do very well at the box office (initially or the entire time it was there) and/or didn't get any press, good reviews, etc... but it turned out to be a great flick. For instance, "Speed" was a sleeper hit...and when it got that tag that is when it did well at the box office).

    ^^I really love that movie! Was it panned by critics? Did it do bad in the box office? I never heard much hype about it, so I'm assuming it never amounted to anything spectacular.

    BTW, while I liked the Cider House Rules, I thought that the concept of Toby McGuire and Charlize Therone was a reach. Maybe it's just me.
