    6. Bang A Gong (also known internationally as "Get It On") - T. Rex

    T. Rex had enormous, huge success and multiple #1s in the U.K., but I believe this was their only song to break Top 40 in the U.S.

The album was called "Pocket Full of Kryptonite"--there was no song of that name. The Superman themed song on the album was "Jimmy Olsen's Blues". But that song wasn't a hit. And the Spin Doctors technically defy "one hit wonder" status anyway, because they had TWO hits--two top forty songs.

From the same album as the Jimmy Olsen song they had "Two Princes", which went to #7 and "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong", which went to #17.

Also, regardless of individual hits, no group with an album that went triple platinum (within its first year of release too) can really be considered that big a failure. Then again I'm using T-Rex above based on the technicality that they only had ONE U.S. hit, so what do I know?
