Future FORTcons?

If this has already been addressed somewhere else, my apologies. I was just wondering if there have been any plans or discussion about having another FORTcon? I have recently come back more to the FORT after only sporadic reading/posting over the last couple of years and I immediately felt "at home" again and eager to reconnect with many of the members. I would love to meet a lot of you in person. So how about it John, any future plans for another FORTcon? If so, might I suggest the sunny south....Atlanta, Orlando, somewhere near a beach maybe?

Re: Future FORTcons?

It really just takes a person or two who wants to organize it.

Re: Future FORTcons?

If it were held in Atlanta, I could definitely HELP organize it. Who was mostly responsible for organizing 2004 and 2005? Could that person or persons give a few tips? Organization is not exactly my strongest skill, but I am a great second tier worker bee.

Re: Future FORTcons?

You can get cheap flights to Atlanta.

I could help somewhat in organizing it. I'm only 2 hours from Atlanta.

Somewhere near a beach for sure. We froze our butts off in Chicago.

Re: Future FORTcons?

Star, would a beach at Lake Lanier count I'm voting Atlanta too, Unk. Too bad for you! I've never planned an event like it before, but I do know the city pretty well, and could share lots of info, good things to do, and what planning I could. . I'd much rather do another Fortcon than the 30th high school reunion I've already decided against. And MRD is right--you can get to Atlanta for $250 or less from almost anywhere in the country, thanks to Airtran, and Delta usually matches them. For those not served by Airtran, Southwest goes into Birmingham Alabama, so maybe some of our Alabaman friends and myself could do a pickup service.

Remember, we've already had it UpNawth and OutWest. So, it should be either DownSouth or NawthEast.
