Tips for Vegas Virgins

The 1st time I went there I planned to buy new fancy clothes, since on TV everyone is dressed to the nines (except the little old lady in the powder blue sweatsuit who's winning the jackpot at the slots). The women all wear high heels too. TV is NOT reality!
Thank God someone told me it's not like that at all. Everyone wears comfortable clothes, women wear pants & flat shoes. Most, male & female, wear sneakers. If not, very comfortable walking shoes because you are going to do a LOT of walking.
The only time people get dressed up, and even then not always all that much, is to go to one of the shows.

The walking really did me in.... my feet were so sore. I was lucky to get a pair of flip flips at Walgreens that saved my vacation. $4 and I could walk!

Re the walking, SO true...from a map it looks like you can just hop from one casino to another... by the time you just walk through the slots in your own hotel and cross the street your feet will be killing you, much less walk to the next block! The casinos are huge! Like big city block huge for each of the main ones! And they "guide" you so you walk through all the gambling temptations to get from one non-gambling place, like a restaurant or the check in counter to another, like your elevator.
I used to laugh when I watched that old Vegas show with Vanessa Marcil on it... the women were all in cocktail dresses and 4 inch heels...yeah.. doubt even the people who work there dress like that or they'd stand out like sore thumbs.

I could maybe swing the heels if I were staying at the casino for the night, but to walk around? No way!
