I like it, too. (And I think that it may be a good candidate for FCII hotel). I like its location on the Strip, its pool and the prices per standard room for a Strip location are simply unbeatable.

However, I don't like the dinky casino or the restaurants at the Flamingo. No biggie, though, since it's a place to shower, sleep and drop your bags. The casinos and restaurants can certainly be had elsewhere.

Phat, the Stardust has a big casino, and (ahem) it's $90 on those dates, AND it's the home of Wayne Newton!

So I've marked the calendar and I know I can take time off from work, but I'm wondering if we've made more progress on picking the location??

Is it going to be in Vegas, for sure?

I HOPE SO!!! I just can't think of a better place where we can go, go, go, go, go all night and get the most out of our mere three days of playing!!!

I just lied to my mother.

I told her I was thinking of going somewhere the weekend of the 16th through the 18th, but I didn't know where or what I'd be doing.

Ack! I might be starting a new job soon and I almost forgot that I'm going to need to tell them I need days off for FORTCon! *smacks forehead*

Technically, you haven't lied to her because it's not official yet that it will be held in Las Vegas.

I thought about not telling my mom, but I just felt kind of weird not telling her that I was going to last year's FORTCON. Never start a sentence with "I'm meeting some online friends!" That just freaks them out even more.

I came back in one piece, so it'll be easier for her when I tell her I'll be going to FORTCON again in September.

I didn't and won't tell my co-workers about FORTCON. I would never hear the end of it. They are reality-tv haters.

Zhora, I really hope you make it to this years FORTCON. It'll be so much fun meeting you.

True on the place Wolf. It was really the what where I was prevaricating. It was especially awkward because the 18th is my birthday. My mother decided to fly out of Seattle on the 19th to go visit my sister in France for two weeks and wants me to take care of her dog while she's gone. She thought it was a grand plan to come to Seattle early to celebrate my birthday. I had to break the news that we might be celebrating when she returns.
