| Steve, I heard some rumors that there is a bar in New York City where racers meet for the TAR finale each season. Is that true? Can anyone (=me) get in? November is too close to Christmas, and I have to save up for my annual trip home to Denmark. But if anyone meets in New York, I will be there! |

| Astrogirl dear, at the finale of each Amazing Race a very large contingent hosted by another website (TWoP) puts on a hell of a bash for the fans. The racers who are in town always go as well as quite a few alumni. It's a great party that celebrates all that is the race. Last one was almost 300 strong and was in the Madison Square Garden. Watch the other site for details, and yes, anyone can go as long as the PayPal for the fee, usually around $30 to $40. Did I mention open-bar? And Funnygirl , what says Christmas than a fine gift of cocktail napkins from the casinos? |

| mr. gracie was discussing the next fortcon with his Friday morning drinking buddies and they suggested Baton Rouge, same gambling possibilities and open all night bars, but cheaper hotel rooms. Myself, I'm primed for Vegas, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. I guess he was more impressed with you guys than I thought since he has told everyone he knows we went to Chicago and met you all and had a great time.

| Gracie, he's actually admitting, to real life friends, that he went to FORTcon with you and had fun?? Wow! ![]() I'm glad he had fun. I was beginning to worry when he didn't join us for dinner the first night, but I know we were throwing off his body-schedule, so I was really happy to have the chance to spend a little time with him on Sunday. Even if phat and I DID walk the length of Navy Pier twice in the freezing cold, just to try out a bar he wanted ![]() | |
