Wallace feels embarrassed because Chris likes him, so he decides to score with Brooke...and not because he really likes her a lot. I'm losing respect for this guy. He used her, completely. He could have just cleared it up with Chris or something...I mean, he could have said that the dancing and all was just joking around.
