    Art/Artists

I tried finding a thread for art and didn't see one.

I was looking up pictures for pool avatars and stumbled across an artist I like very much! Her name is Lisa Marie Robinson. Here are some examples of her work:

And here's a link to her Zazzle page with more pictures: Lisamarieart | Zazzle.com Store

I have one favorite artist. Sarena Mann creates her "Flying Ladies" from wire, paper mache, cloth, ribbons and sundry other notions. I have 13 of them 'flying' all over the house. I call them my Fairies. The first 5 rows of pics are various types of her 'flying ladies'.

Those are really interesting! I'm posting the links to her portfolio and online store since an image search can change and includes things that aren't hers.

I particularly like the ones that have boats and mermaids. Being a Floridian, I just love the water!

I'm a big fan of Patrick Nagel. One of his pictures is on Duran Duran's Rio album, which is how I first heard about him. "Sunglasses" was the first Nagel print I bought.

My mom bought me this one as a graduation gift and second one that was on clearance at the same store:

I fell in love with this print many years ago and had it framed to display in my office. I have changed over the years and my taste in art has too, but I never grew tired of the print and I still display it at home.

    It's by Maxfield Parrish.

I have a lot of favorite artists and art work. I'm a fan of M.C. Escher, Georges Seurat, and Thomas Kinkade.

One of my favorite art pieces is Van Gogh's Starry Night. I just love the colors and the movement in it. It reminds me of being a little kid and looking up at the sky at night, still believing in the magic of wishing on a star.

I wasn't a big fan of Dali but I did like Persistence of Memory. Then I went to the Salvador Dali Museum in Tampa with my grandparents and hearing the inspiration behind his works and what they meant totally changed my perspective on them! I'd like to visit the museum again sometime. I haven't gone in many years. They change their display every so often so I could learn more about his other works.

I used to have Starry Night displayed in my home. I think it's in storage. I also had a Dali print, but I'll have to hunt down the name of it.
