I think the "black" is from the blackened spice used, right?

No idea - Paula Deen's just had black pepper.

Laughing at butter in the PD burger. I should have spelled bleu correctly ... that would've made more sense. I think a nicer version would use blackened seasoning, but ours were just black-peppered and grilled.

Speaking of bacon and tomatoes, I made tomato bacon jam for the first time and it was awesomely delicious. I used it to top a scallop for an appetizer, but my guests loved it so much they spread it on the bread too. It's a good recipe for ripe, flavorful tomatoes, and I'm pretty sure you can can it just like fruit jams.

A GIANT salad with lots of veggies, some dried fruit, nuts and grilled chicken. I'm stuffed!

Tonight was BLTs with lettuce and tomatoes from our CSA. (I made lettuce wraps for mine).

We've had garlicky green beans and shrimp a couple of times over the past two weeks...we got lots of green beans from the CSA :-)

Last night was ribeye, corn on the cob, and tomato (CSA)/mozzarella/basil (CSA) salad.

Oh, and my CSA guy gave me six pounds of pickling cukes last Sunday, so today I put up three quarts and five pints of pickles (chip-style, dill with onion and garlic). I promised him some for giving me the cukes :-)

Catching up on this thread and recalling how much I LOVE BASIL. We had so much rain this summer that my herbs didn't make it. The tomato vines rotted from too much water.

Tonight we had leftovers of; Field peas, squash, boiled potatoes, sliced tomato, sliced beets, and rolls. I'm trying to cut back on meat.
