I made long-simmering spaghetti sauce with Italian (sweet) sausages, served on angel hair. Yum :-)

    Re: Whats For Dinner TONIGHT?

Fridays are when I meet with my Little Sister and usually take her out to eat. We went to a Chinese/Thai place where I usually get the Thai noodles, but I'm trying to get back to my healthy diet so I had shrimp and veggies with the sauce on the side and ate very little of the white rice that came with it. Eating with chop sticks also slows me down a little so I didn't wolf it down. I hadn't had much breakfast or lunch.

Yum! I went to an artsy town that was having a open house gallery gala walk-around kind of thing. I stuck to fruits and veggies and sparkling cider. Then we went to a restaurant and had a cup of butternut squash/pear soup and a salad with a pear cut in half and grilled on top. It was excellent.

I did my Sunday wash the dishes and clean out the fridge thing... got out the juicer and had carrot/parsnip/ginger juice, and cucumber/apple/beet juice for lunch while I revved up the crockpot and made mushroom/barley soup with onions, carrots, celery, white beans. The mushrooms were dried and I haven't had a lot of experience with those, but I went to see Cloud Atlas again and just came home to the most incredible STEW! The barley and mushrooms soaked up most of the vegetable broth and mushroom soaking water I started with. Talk about comfort food! Yum!
