    Cherry Extract

I'm having a hard time finding cherry extract. I need it for something I'm baking. Anyone know what I can use to substitute for this? I've googled but can't find anything. I was thinking maybe grenadine syrup? Or cherry jello mixed with a little water?

I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

Thanks, but I don't have time to order. I need it today so I can start my baking. I wonder if buying some cherries and squeezing the juice from them would work?

I think cherry juice would be the best alternative. If you have a Penzy's spice store near you, they probably carry it.

I would used real 100% cherry juice (not apple juice or white grape juice with red food coloring and cherry flavor) and reduce it by simmering it in a saucepan -- just like you would do with a wine reduction.

I didn't see these responses until tonight, but earlier today I bought a bag of fresh cherries. I think I'll get the juice from them and reduce it.
