I'm not thrilled with the salads, either.
So many of them contain chicken, and since there's no info as to the source of the chicken (and given the last recall), I don't buy it.
I used to love the beet salad, before they "improved" it with chicken.

Also discontinued: Cacciatore Sauce. I can make a good Cacciatore Sauce from scratch, but theirs had so much more flavor. I have read that the most frequent complaint Trader Joe's gets is from customers who morn the loss of a favorite discontinued product. They used to carry two different Tarimisu (sp?) brand desserts, but now only carry the inferior one. DAMN YOU TRADER JOE! OK. that should do it!

To be fair, sometimes TJ's wants to keep the popular item, but the supplier either goes out of business or no longer wants to cut a deal.

Oh, totally. Doesn't mean I'm still not super upset when my favorites get discontinued. In the end, I don't care about the explanation, I just want what I want!

I still haven't gotten over them discontinuing the corn meal crust pizza with sausage and caramelized onions. It's probably my favorite thing they ever carried.

I used to ADORE their 1,000 layer crackers. Does anyone know anywhere else that has a product even similar to those?

I said, "Write that down, and send it in!" And, at my demand, it was brought back! We add Craisins or Raisins, and it has the most lovely, subtle curry flavor with the rice, apples, peas and whatnot. A perfect dinner with a nice, simple salad!
Are you talking about the biryani in the bag or the new stuff in the box with the dumplings? 'Cause this stuff in the box is just okay. Tastes better than it smells, but it's sort of bland.

Frozen in the bag. So easy to fix and goes with anything.

I like the stuff in the bag. They've had that for years (for a reason!). This is the NEW product they're promoting. It wasn't HORRIBLE, but there are so many other Indian products at TJ's that I love. I probably won't buy it again.

Sort of a mixed review for the Reduced Guilt Shells with Spinach and Ricotta. They taste really good (although they're pretty small), but the after taste is REALLY garlicky. I felt like I need to go brush my teeth to get rid of it. I'd buy it again, but it definitely wouldn't be good for an office lunch, unless you've got a toothbrush and toothpaste in your desk!

My thoughts exactly. Love it, but I need a minty dessert after.
