    Re: Trader Joe's

My cookie butter just arrived through the mail (via Amazon) so I'll beat you to the punch (I still can't believe you didn't even open it for a taste!!!). It is delicious. Sweet, creamy, a little spicy in the sense of mildly ginger bread cookie-ish. There is a bit of a crunch if you chew it (ground up cookies). I'm not going wild over it, though, and I don't think I would get it again. I try to eat a beans and greens diet and this is just too far out of my comfort zone. Maybe if I have it on apple slices or celery, or stirred into a bowl of oatmeal. So far, I've just stuck my finger in.

For $12.00 a jar it would have to be fabulous for me to buy it.

Trader Joe's Speculoos Cookie Butter: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

    This is on amazon.

We don't have a store so I don't know what the store price is.

The Amazon seller is really taking advantage with that sort of markup.

That sounds like what I've seen at the store.

Since I feel the need to defend my purchase - a trip to the closest TJ's is 45 min. each way. When I'm in that town, I feel the need to go to places I don't get to go very often... Joann Fabrics, the world's most incredible Salvation Army, and other places where I tend to spend money. Not to mention I always buy things at TJ's that are not on my usual diet. So spending more through Amazon actually saved me a lot of money not to mention a whole day shot. Yesterday I used a clean spoon to scoop around my finger eating spot to put it on toast so I could experience it melty warm, then I took the rest of the jar to my elderly neighbor on a limited income and played up the "buzz" so she could experience it.

In that case, the markup was a bargain!

You don't need to defend your purchase ... although I must say that I "maximize" my shopping excursions the way you do! I have tried it and found it pretty good, but I am not crazed to go get more. My SO also said it was mighty good, and mighty sweet.

We are going to try it with apples ... and I am going to share mine with my neighbor too.

I bought 2 jars ... so I will save one unopened in case of an EMP.

My interview went really well; I can't think of anything I'd have done differently.
They're interviewing for the next couple of days. (…probably the majority of candidates three decades younger than I…)
Fingers crossed for a call-back for a second interview, and then a job offer...
