Re: Trader Joe's

I just made some fish sticks from Trader Joe's. I don't like cooked fish at all but I actually was able to eat them!! The organic french fries lacked in flavor but I suppose when you're used to fat and salt in fries everything else seems very bland!

That's the ultimate snack food for my boyfriend and I-we joke that once we get married, we'll need a freezer for all of the fries we'll eat!

Just got off TJ's website. New store opening soon in Cambridge, MA. Triple Gemini, does that help you?

There are lots of TJs in this area :-) It's nice having another, but I probably won't go to it...I'll stick with stores closer to me.

Thanks for thinking of me :-)

I "spoke" to a mod yesterday. Am going to start a low sodium hints and recipes thread. She said if others want to start threads for other special diets, it's OK with them. I have 4 recipes sitting on my computer table. As soon as I get enough time, I'm going to post the first one.

Have a great day!!

Re: Trader Joe's

I finally got around to trying out the cheese souffle today...it's actually a bag of little cheese nuggets, so you can fill up the ramekin as full as you want to, or you can use a little muffin tin for bite-size souffles. It's actually really, really good. I highly recommend them, and they are a pretty effortless thing if you need some easy appetizers for Thanksgiving and other holiday events.

Re: Trader Joe's

Okay I went today and there's more new things, or at least new to me! There's a sleeve of water crackers (basically a flat, wide cracker) that's $1, and great with the hummus and cornichons. (The boyfriend and I made a picnic out of those today) There's also a pumpkin waffle/pancake mix, a vegetarian queso, a beer bread mix, and a lot of cookies! I got a pack of the dark-chocolate covered peppermint Joe Joes, and man are they good. I may have to get a ton of them and freeze them, because they're quite the cookie/candy combo.

Re: Trader Joe's

Gotta love TJ's... whenever I am at a loss for what to serve for dinner, I go to Trader Joe's belly up to the tasting bar. Everything is always wonderful and I have my inspiration for the night's meal

Luckily for me I no longer have to drive the full 5 miles to the closest TJ's as they recently opened up another store 1.5 miles away from my house I am a happy TJ's shopper!!

Re: Trader Joe's

I am definitely stocking up on the pastas because they have the four different pastas for $1, and I'm cooking giant pastas for the boyfriend so that he can have a good 6-8 meals at hand. Today, the tasting bar had the butternut squash ($2 a package) with cranberries, pecans, and then brown sugar. Talk about yum.
