    Holiday Crafts

I thought I'd start a thread for holiday crafts. Ideas, tips, show off what you've made, etc.

I got a late start, but I handmake my Christmas cards. I whipped out 20 yesterday afternoon. Of course, using stamps helps a lot. But I've got about another 20 to do. They are not as elaborate this year, but oh well.

Anyone else make stuff around the holidays?

I always get such great ideas from other crafters.

I'm knitting a few little beanies. My best friend wants them to put on wine bottle lamps that she is making. My son calls them "beer cozies"!
I never met a piece of chocolate I didn't like.

I cross-stitch Christmas ornaments for the kids that we know.

I also make a lot of alcoholic beverages this time of year

    Re: Holiday Crafts

I would love to make home-made gifts for people, but as we moved in late November I don't have the time nor inspiration (just enough inspiration to make myself some new clothes, but those ideas were there before we started moving).

I'm thinking of doing something simple like fabric bags to use instead of gift wrapping. Better for the environment, and hopefully they'll look cute as well (and will be used for more years to come).

I usually make Christmas cards, but I take the easy way out; I take a photo, Photoshop it with effects and put "God Jul" =(Merry Christmas) on it. Then just print them and mail them; the very easy way out

What a coincidence...I happen to drink a lot of alcoholic beverages this time of year

Since I'm still stuck at home recuperating with no life to speak of, I think I'm going to make a wreath. A friend went to Michaels for me and got a bunch of ribbon, beading. little ornaments etc.....so this might be fun.

I make my own wreath every year. We have some kind of evergreen growing in the back yard. Cut what I need, get a wreath form and wire it on.
I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

I took some evergreen branches a friend gave me, added some magnolia leaves and some holly with berries out of my yard, put in a bowl, added some red glass ball ornaments and it looks like a centerpiece I spent a fortune on.

I am so not creative or crafty. I pulled out the decorations and put them up this morning, so will that count?

Can you make an awesome alcoholic beverage Margaritaville? If you make them, we will come!!

Yes, decorating counts as crafty no matter where they came from!
