| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... Anyone got a recipe for Devonshire or clotted cream that doesn't call for unpasturized cream that I don't have access too? I realize it won't be "real" Devonshire cream, but I got a gallon of strawberries at the farmers market and I want to make scones and devonshire cream to have with the strawberries.

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... Here is a recipe I've made for scones and it's really good, especially if you add some homemade raspberry jam with it. Devonshire Cream 4 ounces mascarpone 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 or 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar Zest of lemon or lime (optional) Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and beat until the mixture holds its shape and looks like softly whipped cream. Use right away or cover and refrigerate the cream until serving time. Makes about 1 1/2 cups. Devonshire Cream Recipe With Picture - Joyofbaking.com | |

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... THanks. Sounds good. So hubby may be getting scones, strawberries and Devonshire cream for father's day breakfast. As long as there's also bacon and eggs, he'll be ok. But that's more of mother's day breakfast, but I couldnt resist these strawberries and I really want scones and cream. Thanks.

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... OMG, You guys have me drooling and I just ate. Years ago we went to Claridge's in London for high tea. We had the scones, the devonshire cream and the fresh strawberry jam. Yum!

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... I'm looking for a recipe for a Phillipino egg roll they were called - they had ground beef and raisins in them, that much I remember. A friend made them once about 10 years ago and I have been wanting to duplicate them ever since....

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... My boss gave me her recipe (she is from the Phil.) Lumpia 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup chopped onions 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 cup water 1/2 cup diced carrots 1/2 cup green beans, French cut 1/2 cup diced celery 1 (10 ounce) can bamboo shoots, julienned 1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and julienned 1/2 cup jicama, peeled and julienned 1/2 cup bean sprouts 1 (16 ounce) package egg roll wrappers 1 quart vegetable oil for frying Add to Recipe Box My folders: DIRECTIONS In a wok or skillet, saute the garlic and onions in hot oil until the onions are translucent. Add the pepper and soy sauce and saute further. Drain the excess oil, add the water and bring to a boil. Add the carrots and simmer for 5 minutes. Add the green beans, celery, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and jicama. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove the pan from heat and add the bean sprouts. Cool to room temperature. Place three heaping tablespoons of the filling diagonally near one corner of each wrapper, leaving a 1 1/2 inch space at both ends. Fold the side along the length of the filling over the filling, tuck in both ends, and roll neatly. Keep the roll tight as you assemble. Moisten the other side of the wrapper with water to seal the edge. Cover the rolls with plastic wrap to retain moisture. Heat a wok over medium heat, add oil to 1/2 inch depth, and heat for 5 minutes. Place 3 or 4 egg rolls in the oil, gently. Fry the rolls until all sides are golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately |

| Re: Anyone got a recipe for... If you cant get authentic lumpia wrappers rather than using egg roll wrappers, they are so much thinner and really make a difference! You can find them in the frozen section of the Asian market, they usually come in a large square cardboard box. Use wet paper towels in between each one to keep them from drying out.
