| Re: What Are You Known For I'm known at work for the variety of cookies I make at Christmas, with my family I'm always the one that has to do the holiday turkey, and Pecan Pies--my own take on an old favorite recipe. I am also often asked for Turtle Pie. For main dishes, stir fries and any seafood are my special things.

| Re: What Are You Known For I'm known for sending my first husband to the emergency room with a bad case of food poisoning (pork chops), for burning minute rice, for leaving the sugar out of chocolate chip cookies, for leaving the bag of innards INSIDE an otherwise pretty good turkey, for lemonade that tasted strongly of dishsoap and for egg salad that crunched - and not because of the pickles. ![]() Of course, most of that was when I was MUCH younger and much less accomplished in the cooking/baking area. I can actually cook some now and like to bake, but for some reason I'm still just asked to provide drinks and chips at potlucks. ![]() ![]()

Oh, golly gee, you made me laugh! I'm known for baking, especially at Christmas. Thing is, my list has grown because too many of the people I originally gave to started telling others and then I would feel kind of guilty and obligated so....it's almost beyond the point of crazy now. It's like a compulsion though, I just don't know how to stop, or maybe I don't really want to stop. Maybe I need therapy, or perhaps I'll just go bake something... ![]() | |

| Re: What Are You Known For Hey does everyone have Pizza Hut's Tuscani Pastas? We had the meaty marinara the other night and it's actually pretty good. | |

| Re: What Are You Known For I'm known for my peanut butter pie and nobake cookies. My family loves my peanut butter pie and asks me to make it for lots of functions.

| Re: What Are You Known For I don't think I'm known for anything since I don't entertain much. But I bake like a fool. Not sweets, I'm not a sweet person. But, as complained about in various threads, I love to bake bread. Breadsticks, baguettes, mini-loaves, rolls, mmmmm. I love baking bread. I love the smell. I love fresh bread with a meal. It tastes completely different. Like homegrown tomatoes vs. store-bought. And bread making is not like making tomato sauce or chili where you refine it and finally come up with the perfect combination. Once you get it, you get it. There's no refining. You just know, hey, this it too hot or too cold. This is too sticky or too tough. I haven't had a bad batch of bread in ages. I haven't proofed my yeast since I moved out at 18.

| Re: What Are You Known For I just love fresh baked bread too. Hubby made a loaf one time that was SO good, I had him make another loaf a couple days later but it just wasn't the same. | |
