smoked paprika is very good. I use it in a lot of things that I would use regular paprika in. But it just gives it a subtle smoky flavor.

    No cake with bacon.

He HATED the bacon candy bar. I found it to be quite good with the salty/sweet thing and the very subtle hint of the bacon. I would eat it again.

Really? Hmmm. Maybe he's a bacon purist? Oh well -- more for you!

It's wonderful, especially the kind that comes from Penzey's. Since Marleybone raved about Penzey's spices in the 'recipes" thread ages ago, i have ordered my spices from them-- it's hard to believe they really are that much better till you try them!

livin4 trots off to google Penzey's...
I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

Penzey's is great! Quality is better and in many cases, it's also cheaper than what I would pay at my local grocery store.

The Penzey's here opened just after I'd read all of the posts about it. I think I was about the third person through the door! LOVE their stuff. I always end up so hungry when I go in there though. One section smells like pizza...the next smells like Indian food... Then Mexican and on to Chinese.... It's like a world tour for the nose. We really love their peppercorn blends (I think the fave is 5 pepper blend - too lazy to get up and go downstairs to look at the jar). The "rubs" and soup mixes/starters are really good too.

There's a Penzey's in Alabama? And why did you get one, and I didn't? When do you want me to come--I'll even look up another house 'o trivia!

Anyone who doubts the power of Penzey's should order the following..

    Vietnamese Cinnamon
    Smoked Spanish Paprika
    Any of the Chili Powders

I guarantee you will be hooked right away!
