So this morning for breakfast I made the family eggs benedict. I was going to just use a hollandaise mix, but forgot to pick some up from the store. So made it from scratch. 4 egg yolks, lemon juice, and 1 cup butter. And a couple of other seasonings. Lovely lovely stuff. I poached the eggs a bit longer than what is normally served on eggs benedict because I don't care for runny yolks. And I made the english muffins myself too. (just kidding about that part anyway, everyone liked them. Served with iced coffee and fruit.
I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

Shopping list for next time I make chili:
    Ground turkey
    Beans
    Spicy stuff
    Tomato-y stuff
    Unsweetened cocoa powder
    Corn
Big window sign that says: "Chili now being served. Male strippers welcome."

Be careful of what you ask for; you just might get it! They are always hungry, as I recall!

I'm sure they would dance for their supper, if you asked!

Livin, I somehow did not receive my breakfast invitation this morning!

Ellen, you crack me up. Let me know if it works, although right now I need someone to rake leaves and trim shrubs, think I could get that in return for chili with corn??

I used to be addicted to those cookbooks the grocery stores sell at the checkout and I've gone cold turkey for ages, but I bought one the other day that is all hamburger and chicken recipes. There are some really good sounding ones in there.

I am going to make the hamburger stew topped with biscuits and if it's good will post the recipe.

I feel Bar-B-Que ribs on my list for today, I hope! I didn't get any the last time I posted that I needed some.

I'm working a rental tonight at work, so I'm feasting on tiny roast beef sandwiches with an apricot horseradish spread, the best spinach dip ever. A bacon wrapped somethingthat is realy good, stuffed mushrooms, calabrese bruschettas, cucumber rounds with a cream cheese spread. I love it when the caterers take care of the staff too and not just the party goers

Oh, that's a given! My brother and his friends were theater majors -- we're only two years apart, so we were in college at the same time for a couple years -- and were always eating at my apartment. They were at my place a lot anyway, because they were taking tap dancing and I had hardwood floors. They'd come over to practice and eat. They were lots of fun and I didn't mind -- and they'd always make sure I got free front-row seats to their plays! (and invitations to the opening night parties with free food and booze)

Luckily, the floor below me was retail space, and the store was closed before my "Bro & Co." came over! (Otherwise, we'd have invited them up for dinner and a show . . .)

OMG, I just got okra chips at Fresh Market. They are not "chips", but the whole okra pod that is dehydrated and fried and they are the best things EVER. They are fried in canola oil and use sea salt, so hopefully they can't be that bad for you because they are 20 times better tasting than potato chips.
