The peeled. mashed frozen banana turns darker .... but not black .. ... but it works well in banana bread, muffins etc.

There are various ways to freeze them ... (Just google how to freeze bananas) ... but I peel each very ripe-over ripe banana and mash it and put it in a snack bag or sandwich bag. I then put them all in a large bag. That is easiest for me and takes up, the least room in my freezer. If the banana is at the edge of being over ripe it has the strongest flavor.

Do you need a smoother maker or just use the blender?

I'd like to try some guavafruit in my NutriBullet smoothies. They sound healthier than the bananas I have been using, or at least would provide some variety. I don't know anything about them. What I'm finding on the internet is that the seeds are edible if you are eating the fruit like an apple but might not blend well. But there must be a lot of nutrition in the seeds and I would hate to throw them out. Anyone have any experience, especially with a NutriBullet? Any other comments on using guava? Am I better off with the larger white or smaller pink varieties, and if I need to scoop out the worst of the seeds is one easier to segregate seeds than the other? Thanks!

I read that if you try to "blend" them ... Guava seeds break into jagged pieces that are unsafe and can damage your esophagus and digestive tract and so should NEVER be added.

I have never had a guava fruit and it seems there are many varieties that vary in taste ... and ranging from VERY seedy to some varieties that are nearly seedless.

Thanks echo, that was my concern. Anyone know which guavas would have fewer seeds? I would probably be purchasing them at Whole Foods.

I get guava juice in a tall carton. I think it's Goya. I LOVE it. pretty sweet, so it sparks up other less sweet ingredients.

Yum! I may do a pot too this weekend. I haven't made it in ages.
