Does anyone have any tips for keeping bananas from ripening so fast? It seems they over ripe so quick lately. I buy them quite green, but in a couple of days....ugh..

Bananas ripen a little slower if you pull them all apart when you get them home.

Like me, be allergic to them and don't buy them! I love bananas.

I take mine apart at the stems . I read that a long time ago, and it really does seem to work

I just read that the other day and am going to try it the next time I buy them.

I'm envious. My son told me that he no longer has an allergic reaction to bananas. Traitor!!!

No, actually, I am happy for him.

I never heard that trick with bananas! Thanks for sharing. I just peel, cut, and freeze them when they start to get too ripe and then use them in smoothies or with walnuts and almond milk as an ice cream alternative.

I pull bananas apart too. It works. Over ripe bananas give me an excuse to make Banana nut bread...Banana pudding.

Thanks for the info. I'll pull mine apart next time.

I do like them ripe if I'm going to make my homemade from scratch banana pudding, but I try to limit that since it's a treat I overindulge on.
