Note: I always proof the yeast before adding the other ingredients, which this recipe includes (except I only proof until it's foamy, which usually only takes about 5-10 minutes). The trick is to make sure that the liquid isn't too hot (kills the yeast) or too cold (yeast won't activate). Use a thermometer to make sure that the temp is right around 110F.

Some homemade yeast rolls you make ahead of time, bake until lightly brown and freeze. When it is time for your dinner, bring them to room temperature and warm or finish browning.

If all else fails, they sell them in the freezer section at the grocery store. Sister Schuberts, Rhodes, etc.

The weather is starting to get a tad cooler ... so it's almost "Chili weather".

I'm thinking about it but just a shave below actually craving it.

I made crockpot chicken soup today... almost chili weather, but not quite. It was in the 90s just a couple of days ago here.

Here too! Today it is rainy, gloomy and about 60 degrees. Weather has been odd all this year.

I need to do the "self-cleaning" oven thing while it is still nice enough to open all the windows ... and keep the dog outside for a couple of hours. :0 Maybe later this week.

I prefer to do the self-cleaning oven when it is cooler/cold weather so that I can use that indoor heat for the house.

I was at work, one day, when a woman called to say that her oven was self-cleaning, she was sitting and watching it, and she kept seeing little flame-ups. I told her to quit watching it and find something else to do!

I prefer to stay close by ... and have to keep the dog out of the house ... so sitting outdoors with her is the best way for me.
