Glad to hear you are feeling better!!
So funny you mention the chocolate chips - I always have to put them in some of the cookies for Mr M. He much prefers them this way.

My best friend loves chocolate chip cookies, without the chocolate chips. Whenever we used to bake them, she'd take all of the chips out of her cookies and bake them plain. It cracked me up!

I do that too!!! When I eat the dough raw, though, I eat the chips.

I love raw cookie dough but it makes my mouth itch. Whenever I make cookies and touch the dough my hands itch as well. How weird is that??!!

So you don't itch if the dough is baked? That is bizarre.

I could eat 2 dozen cookies and never have a problem when they are baked. If the dough isn't cooked, I itch. I also have mouth and throat itch whenever I eat super ripe bananas or melons but if they are just barely ripe, I'm fine. I'm an odd one for sure!

My daughter has the itchy problem with bananas.

Maybe there's something in the cookie dough that goes through a change when it's cooked. Baking is chemistry you know, so maybe the chemistry of something is changed when it's cooked.

I also sneeze a lot if I eat too much sugar. Maybe it's the concentrated sugar in really ripe fruits that makes me itch. Thank goodness it's minor and I can handle it. I couldn't imagine not being able to have any sugar at all.

    Re: General Food Talk

Buglover- could be some kind of allergic reaction. Sometimes mangos make me itch. I just found out that they have the same type of stuff on them as poison ivy (which I'm deathly allergic to) Maybe it's the eggs in the cookie dough?

So last night I watched Ratzilla. I checked out Louisiana's website and they've included some recipes using the nutria (rat) which are very large and apparently prized for their fur. Recipe follows:

2 hind saddle portions of nutria meat
    1 small onion, sliced thin
1 tomato, cut into big wedges
    2 potatoes, sliced thin
    2 carrots, sliced thin
    8 Brussels sprouts
    1/2 cup white wine
    1 cup water
    2 teaspoons chopped garlic
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1 cup demi-glace (optional)

Layer onion, tomato, potatoes, carrots and Brussels sprouts in crockpot. Season nutria with salt, pepper and garlic, and place nutria over vegetables. Add wine and water, set crockpot on low and let cook until meat is tender (approximately 1-1/2 hours). Garnish with vegetables and demi-glace. Makes four servings
