LOVE the valentine meal grapenuts! I have 8 small, heart-shaped pans about the size of cupcakes, but shallow. I make gingerbread and/or brownies in them and give them out. This year I made
gingerbread for my discussion group and gave the left-overs, individually bagged, to the school secretaries. Then I made the brownies and gave half to my neighbor across the street who has a small grandson living with him and the other half to my team at school. Big hit!
    Count your blessings!

Been craving Spainish bean soup. Was not good. Tried doctoring it, better, but not great. It's not often I really mess something up, especially soup. Now still craving "Good Spainish bean soup"

Bummer. Soup is hard to mess up, but when you do, it usually goes really wrong! I hope you get some good Spanish bean soup soon. Post the recipe when you do!

I did another pot of turkey corn chowder today. It should be done in a bit. The house smells terrific!

Growing up in Florida with it's Cuban population, it's fairly common.
Garbonzo beans, potatoes, sliced sausage (anything from chorizo to smoked sausage), broth has saffron and paprika.
    It's usually very good.

This restaurant is phenomenal. The 1905 salad is to die for, so is the paella.
I just screwed up the soup as it's good in the restaurant.
Here's the link to the soup recipe, but check out their other recipes.

I didn't use salt pork. Used bacon. But that can't have been what messed it up. So don't know.

Mmmmm, bean soup. Personally, I think it's impossible to mess it up unless you burn it. Bon appetit!

Has anyone ever had baked kale chips? Tell me about them!

Yes. Everyone in my family loves the kale chips.

First make sure you wash and spin the kale. It has to be dry and free of grit. Then I cut out any thick rib sections. I spray with EVOO and place them onto a baking sheet. I bake for about 20 min. and check for crispness. (temp 300) My next goal is to try with other greens, I've heard they are just as good. Forgot to add, salt them w/kosher.
