The butternut was a little chunky, but not too bad. The cream of broccali was fairly smooth.

So is there truth to the fact that sea salt is better for you than regular salt? Do they both have the same sodium content?

As there is a Campbell's soup commercial that says that sea salt isn't as high in sodium as regular salt.

From what I've heard, salt is salt as far as sodium content. But, sea salt is more flavorful, so you use less. At least I think that's how it works.

Table salt is all NaCl (sodium chloride) whether its sea salt or not. Actually regular mined salt was sea salt at one point in time also, in many cases.
I think sea salt might have some minerals in it that make it taste different, but I suspect it's largely a placebo effect, for lack of a better word.
I have found the Truth and it doesn't make sense.

Table salt (or regular salt) is iodized. Sea salt is not, so the taste is milder. But the sodium content is definitely the same.

Pumpkin ice cream is delightful, too, but the Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream has pieces of crust in it!! To die for!!

That sounds delicious. Was this homemade, and if so, do you still have the recipe?

No. We had a great local ice cream shop that did make all their own ice cream and every year at Thanksgiving, they offered pumpkin ice cream pies.
So we bought one one year and it was fabulous.

I don't like pumpkin pie. It's more a consistancy thing with me as I love pumpkin flavored anything else. So the ice cream pie was a good choice.

    myrosiedog,

I loved the Jif Chocolate Peanut Butter as well. I was unhappy when we could no longer get it.
