My sister promises to show me how to make her famous tofu burgers when she comes for the holidays. I can almost wait!

Au contraire! Use it; it's still good. If anything, it'll have a "meatier" texture.

I start the soup, add the curry, cubed tofu, and frozen peas. Then just heat it for 5 or 10 min. I like it with buttered toast, or slightly stale bakery bread if I'm trying to use some up. I have a weakness for bread that is still warm at the grocery store bakery.

    I've got a weakness for Panera bread...and I am not a bread-head!!!

I'm trying to cut down on bread. I keep Ezekiel bread in the freezer, but I just cannot pass up bread that is still warm/hot out of the oven. Especially the garlic, rosemary, or focaccia. I have 1/3 of it eaten by the time I get home. I did read somewhere about a health benefit of fresh-baked bread, but I can't remember where or what.

Thanks Gut! I will be trying this for sure.

I used to make a "cream of asparagas" soup, using a brick of tofu and mixing it with a can of asparagas, using the lliquid from the can. I'd put it in the food processor and break it all up, put it on stove with some salt and pepper, a little garlic powder and a touch of nutmeg. It was yummy and easy.

    That asparagus soup sounds great.
Freshmarket has my favorite soup back now that it's fall: Butternut squash and apple. Yum.

I am a bread person too, but I can't stand Panera. I don't know why, but have not had anything in that store that I've liked. We have Atlanta Bread Company here and I prefer their sandwiches over Paneras, but if I want REALLY good bread, I head to Fresh Market.

This is good for a giggle...reminds me a bit of the Cakewrecks site, but without the funny captions. Mind you the descriptions of these, um, "recipes" are pretty funny. And scary.

I went to Cost Plus today and they have a bunch of food items on sale. I'm loving the olives stuffed with mozzarella and prosciutto I might go back and get the ones stuffed with bleu cheese too!

I love that site, AJane! It makes me feel better about my own diet! That giant taco - I think it's called "El Nino" - reminds me of one those "commercials" on SNL. The one on SNL came in its own tote bag!
