My daughter is making her super dooper pancakes for dinner tonight. Mouth is still sore adn still need to eat soft things and her pancakes are definetly comfort food. she adds cinnamon and vanilla extract to the batter, but may try adding pumpkin pie spice to it tonight.

that sounds really good MRD. I wonder if one could also add some pumpkin puree?

Yesterday I had a turkey burger for lunch. First time for me and I couldn't help but think of Jenius Jen from BB 9? With her revolt against the slop she ate a turkey burger. Anyway it was delish!

I don't know Livin, but I bet you could. There is a resturant here that does sweet potato pancakes that are to die for. I bet pumpkin ones would be good too.

I just saw french toast made with cornbread. They baked the cornbread in a loaf pan and cut slices and then made it like french toast. I have GOT to try this.

It's getting to be time for me to start looking for my pumpkin pie ice cream!

We do -- we love pumpkin pancakes here, with pumpkin butter instead of syrup!

    Re: General Food Talk

Last night Bobby Flay talked about his favorite breakfast, which I'm going to try.

It is peanut butter/banana french toast.

The egg mixture was 3 eggs, 1/2 c half/half, 1 t vanilla, 1 t. cinnamon splash of cheap rum and 1/2 cup OJ. Spread 2 slices of whole wheat bread with peanut butter. Top with ripe, sliced banana. Sandwhich together and dip into egg mixture. Fry until crisp on both sides and serve with syrup.

One time I made sandwhiched french toast with jelly and cream cheese inside. YUM.

Another good pumpkin dish is pumpkin cheese cake.

Thomas's makes a cornmeal bread that is basically cornbread, but packaged like sliced bread in the bread aisle. I bet that would make good French toast.
    Count your blessings!
