Cats do not have sweet receptors in their tastebuds, and mine seem to be greatly diminished judging from so many people around me. This just gives more credence to my theory that I may have been a cat in a former lifetime!
I must have gotten your share of the sweet tastebuds then. I do fine during the day, but around 7 pm, all I can think about is having something sweet and it will last until I satisfy it or go to bed whichever comes first.

I had the best lunch today. The library has a cafe in it and it's next door to where I work, so I head over there occasionally for lunch as it's always good and it's inexpensive. Today they had bay scallop bisque that was TOO DIE FOR!!!!! I will be looking for a recipe. It had whole scallops and mushroom slices in the bisque.

Scallops are sort of like clams right? (I don't have seafood much because it is never fresh and really expensive).

I love fresh seafood though. When I was in Mexico for a semester we had the most delicious fresh fish I've ever had on a trip to Progresso Beach on the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Sigh... if only it would taste like that up here.

I do keep Nutella on the shelf, in case of a rare emergency, but I only touch it a couple of times/year. I may not have gotten a sweet tooth, but I did get a chocolate tooth! I'll taste the Nutella and tell myself it's chocolate!

I love desserts, also, but I don't like overly sweet desserts. I'm not much of a fan of milk or white chocolate. I prefer the dark most of the time. I worked at Nestle's several years ago and long before that I had an aversion to their candy as I find it fairly cloying. On the other hand, the dark chocolate Dove bars (made by Mars) are to die for!

Ooh... Dove is great stuff. Right now I am craving a churro from Taco Johns. I would rather have cinnamon over chocolate anyday. One of my favorite sweet tooth cures are baked honey crisp apples with cinnamon and sugar... yum!

I tossed my nutella last night. It was painful to do so. Unfortunately it does not fit in with my new healthier lifestyle. Excuse me whilst I mourn...

I must be sick. My daughter made me my favorite cake for my birthday on Mon. I have had exactly ONE piece of it. I haven't really wanted anymore. Meanwhile, everyone else has enjoyed it. So my sweet tooth must be on vacation.,

Thanks Critical I'll make a point of looking for it..

Um...question here for iguanachocolate will you be changing your name? Maybe something like iguanasalad??

So to my question: Has anyone ever done macaroni and cheese in a crockpot? If so could I have some advice? (the whole crockpot pasta thing is scary)

I very much believe in rescuing animals, not buying them.

I did once and it was a horrible, gooey mess. Maybe someone can give us both pointers.
