Oh my gosh those peppermint patties sound so good. I'm going to make them this year too.

Well I don't like peppermint patties, but my only experience was with the commercial ones. Then my friend made these and I discovered how wonderful they can be. These are the only ones I will eat.

You can put red food coloring in it to make it more festive.

My taste buds don't require 'festive'.

Neither do mine but that sounds like an easy, fun recipe and I'll try the food coloring to impress the kiddos.

Anyway, here is a very simple recipe to have on hand for the holidays.

    Rosemary Cashews

    1 lb roasted unsalted cashews
    2 Tablespoons minced rosemary
    2 teaspoons light brown sugar
    1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1 Tablespoon melted butter

    Preheat oven 350 degrees

Toast cashews in oven for about 5 minutes

Mix ingredients in bowl and toss with cashews until well coated. Serve warm.
I was copying this recipe for someone and realized that I forgot to include one crucial ingredient!!!
    One Tablespoon Kosher Salt!!!

So sorry! Doxie, I hope you haven't made them yet. I thought they would be good to give to your parents for their "cocktail hour".
BTW - My son thinks they are too salty but my husband and I think the amount of salt is perfect. If you are not a 'salt" person, decrease the salt to a teaspoon, you can always add to it.

Wow I never knew this section existed. I'm very impressed with all your recipes. I'll have to drum up a few to add to all your great ones.

No problem! I was planning to make them sometime this week and test them out on my parents when we join them for cocktail hour and tree decorating next weekend! I found a hilarious Christmas ornament that is a martini shaker with a santa hat on it. It opens just like a real martini shaker, and I am going to fill it up with those cashews!
