| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** The styles weren't some esoteric thing that only American high-schoolers would know. They were over-generalized fashion segment trends that any in-tune designer would be able to spot. They have been around for years, and many famous designers have already used them as inspiration. If you've seen the movie Clueless, you saw them all in one place. ![]()

![]() It really showed that Merlin had to base his entire design on fifteen minutes of the Lindsey Lohan flick. The styles may not be so vague and ill-defined as some have us believe, but do note that location means everything. I'm from Europe, and trust me when I say that there's a very large shift in style between my country and for instance Germany and France, and America. | |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** I am behind on this show, but have finally caught up with all the episodes and have a few thoughts... - I do think updated B-girl might be harder than people think, espcially when trying to keep it classy. I thought Angel's look was more like 1990's "In Living Color" style hip-hop. It did not strike me as current or new. - I can't stand Danielle's attitude, but I did like her final tree hugger outfit. Reco also annoys me, but I can't complain much because he appears to have the talent to back up his talk. - Johnny should just leave. His last outfit was terrible and I agree that he should have been eliminated for the outfit HE wore to judging. - It frustrates me to no end when Issac and Kelly go in to the workroom to review the designers progress. Take, for example, Merlin this week. They looked at his outfit and asked some questions, particularly about the sleeves. Then they went out into the hallway and gossiped about how the sleeves would be wonderful long, but would be tragic if he shortened them as he was planning. WHY can't they have a Tim Gumm on this show who would have gone in to review their progress and given helpful feedback and given them something to think about without telling them what to do??? MizRo blows through there and all they do is act catty and make the designers start questioning their work as the try to decipher their comments. - I was also REALLY annoyed last week when the designers had to work with "real women" and bemoaned it to no end. As a "real woman", I found it offensive. I think that is when I really started disliking Danielle and the small Asian guy (Jean-Paul?) was no better (although he was funnier)!! |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** Not surprisingly, the well-tailored pants that Merlin made are reproduced horridly (i know that's not a word, but there isn't really another way to describe it) on the Bravo site, while the blouse looks better. They didn't even bother recreating the sweater (the item that most people wanted). Horrible. Why even bother having the stuff for sale if it's reproduced so badly? |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** I KNOW! Johnny's was totally messed up, with the bicycle shorts and fringes. What were those judges thinking? Angel's was poorly made but I thought it was a posh and 80's (In Living Color's flygirl) version of a b-girl. And it was leaps and bounds better than the atrocious mess that Johnny made. And Kelly's comment was kind of harsh and, ultimately, in my opinion, what swayed the older judges to go for Angel's elimination. And how did Haven's creation end up as top 2? |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** The tree hugger outfit should have gotten more attention. That top piece was a gorgeous combination of hood, shawl and scarf....really clever and very well made, especially liked how the ends of the scarf curled when it hung down. I do agree with previous posters that the lighting or camera angles do NOT allow us to see the clothes really well. Even in the judging room, it appears to be dark so when the models come on for good or bad, I still don't see things as well as I would like. MORE LIGHT PLEASE |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** This has to be the most unlikeable cast ever! Some of them I think are alright designers but none of them have personalities that I liked. I don't agree with most of the judges decisions. Haven's did not belong in the top 2. Kelly needs to just get off my screen, what the heck was up with her lecturing about B-Girls? Johnny should have gone home, he clearly thinks he is above this show so send him home already and let the others who are still acting like they want to be there stay. I'm at my last straw with this show. Between the way Isaac and Kelly only seem to be there to tear the contestants down (have they ever offered any constructive criticism?) and mislead them (they love the outfit but make it seem like they hate it by the way they talk to them...Merlin...) the end result is that I miss Tim! Now he knew how to mentor. Speaking of which, should mentors be judges and vice versa? No. You lose objectivity and then their personalities start to come into play when it's judging time and it's no longer about the designs only. The other thing is the attitudes of these contestants. The way they acted during the so-called "real" woman challenge was absurd. What would they do if they had gotten the Project Runway challenge when they had to design for the moms (and sisters?) faint? Crawl into a corner and cry because of the horror of the size of their hips? Get over yourselves designers. If you were that good? You wouldn't need some reality show to catch a break. So take it for the exposure and learning experience it is and stop elevating yourself to some status that you don't belong in. |

| Re: 6/11 Show Discussion **Spoilers** I am totally with Reco in his annoyance at Johnny. He said at the beginning of the show that he is living with his parents and would like to win so he can move out. I would be mighty peeved at someone talking like Johnny if I were in Reco's situation. And Danielle is talented, but she should can the 'tude. Did anyone notice how she does this little snort-roll of the eyes to dismiss people's opinions? She is the original mean girl, just older and starting to go to pot. |

I also agree with the attitudes of some of these designers. Last week's "real women" challenge really brought their personalities front & center and i must admit as well i was pretty disgusted by what i saw. ![]() I will continue to watch this show for the simple fact that i do like Merlin & Reco and maybe Lidia (but i know shes on shaky ground) but thats the only thing keeping me interested.
