| Re: 5/07 Premiere Show Discussion Thread **Spoilers** I think Kelly fills a Padma type role as in "consumer who knows her stuff." When you get ring-side seats at couture shows on a regular basis, get designers sending you things for free hoping you will wear them to an event and are constantly judged every time you step out in public you quickly develop an eye for what works and what doesn't. For a mostly unknown designer, getting a celebrity to wear one of your designs to an event is an endorsement that can pay off in cold, hard cash. Despite the recession, there are still women in NY, LA, London, Saudi Arabia, etc who will see a celebrity wearing something in a magazine, contact the designer and order one in every color. AT the same time, they needed someone whose taste is middle of the road and can be more objective. |

| Re: 5/07 Premiere Show Discussion Thread **Spoilers** Having Kelly Rowlands as co-host is not necessarily a bad idea. God knows they could not have used another super-model and be accused even more of copying PR. Besides, who can compete with Heidi? She has had years of doing this show to raise her profile even further and grow as a host. Give the show a chance. Austin hit it right out of the park in the first show of PR, but people like Jay didn't come into their own until much later. |

| Re: 5/07 Premiere Show Discussion Thread **Spoilers** Project Runway Light ... how disappointing. Didn't care for any of the "designers", hosts were mediocre, and who cares about the judges.

| Re: 5/07 Premiere Show Discussion Thread **Spoilers** I found this to be an amusing bit of fluff..... Not bad, not great but amusing! The funniest part of the night was the little blond girl saying "this is like the weirdest summer camp ever". While the contestants are rather blah, for the most part they do look like they can at least sew. Merlin's bizarre outfit at the end was really distracting but I suppose that was his point. Alot of models didn't look like that they were good runway walkers at all. Did anyone notice that? And why didn't they do fittings prior to the runway........ |
