Not really Buster...Brandon has been a student at debbies dance academy in LA...shannon is NOT a "pro">>> yes, she is a dancer for a nba team in oregon...not a union member like serena or tyce..
I think both brandon and shannon are less "pro"..
yes, shannon was in a rock group, but only in her local area..
serena, tyce and harlemm are the real pros..
however I agree with you...there is something basically cruel about pitting a 16 year old against a 36 year old or a guy in his 30's like Tyce who has a huge resume..
poor brandon is only 2 years older than some of the kids on american juniors...
however if you read his hometown knoxville papers you see he has been at debbies studio for a full year..
surprize surprize..JMO>> this whole show is a farce all because they never made clear what the criteria, requirements were..very poorly thought out
Um, that still counts as show-biz experience. That's all Buster said - even if being a professional dancer doesn't count in your book, I think performing in a singing group for pay, and releasing a single (even if you donate the proceeds from that single), certainly count as show biz experience. Buster said nothing about the amount of experience - Brandon's having attended a dance academy makes him a student, even if at a prestigious academy. This is not professional experience, and he is indeed the only one among them who seems to have none. Again, this appears to have been Buster's point.
True...but...dont we think debbie must have "known" brandon if he was a student at her school?? who said anything about shannon with a cd anyhow??
I think the real difference was tyce, serena and the elusive gerry woo...
alex, shannon, brandon, allyson etc were not in their league...
and I do agree that it is especially hard on brandon...I mean he is like 2 years older than some of the brats on american junior lol..
but he is NOT of the amateur calibre of say Raymond Lee...letting Raymond attempt to dance with the other dancers was pretty cruel and unusual I thought
OK - my post disappeared. Trying again: even if Brandon and Debbie knew eachother from the academy, how is this at all related to your original point of professional experience? It still means he has none. He auditioned just like everyone else, and America voted, not Debbie. He got farther than all but three competitors, so he definitely earned it. Looking forward to hearing more from him soon.
The race is back!
I deleted it only because the last line of the original post held a little spoiler info.
I see - actually it didn't at all, but I can see how it may have been interpreted that way. Thanks for the 'spanation.
Well hopefully Brandon gets a record contract too...I guess he will finish out his final year at debbies dance academy...maybe they will give him a scholarship LOL>>
I do think he has a great future...only 16 Look forward to seeing him more...he was super last nite...sang sooo smooth....wow...I would sure buy a cd from brandon
