Just saw the promo again and, oh YEAH, we got some Leroy's there! Right down to the hairdo! This looks like it really might be fun. The more I see it, the better it looks!

I have the soundtrack from the movie, there are a few songs on there I can't live without. I was listening to it Friday.

Doris wanted to be an actor. Remember? She was in every stage production there was. I ony think she sang because the show was a "musical." That definitely wasn't where her talent was.

Leroy was a cheerleader and choreaographer for the movie "Eddie" with Whoopie Goldberg (who played a baskebtball coach) a few years ago but I haven't seen anything on him since.

Doris' last name was actually Schwartz. It's all coming back to me now...

It was originally Finsucker, but she changed her stage name to Schwartz, if I'm remembering correctly, but it has been quite a while... She auditioned as a singer, but her piece was more acting than singing and she really couldn't sing. There were a couple of main cast members from each department, so they really just had some people dance while others were singing, playing instruments, etc.

Do you know what happened to the guy who played Ralph Garcy/Raul Garcia or what happened to Irene Cara, who played Coco?

You know, one of my professors used to live next door to Irene Cara when she was in college. She actually went to the high school allegedly featured in Fame, but said it wasn't anything like the movie - nobody dancing in the streets, cafeteria, etc. She said everyone there was really serious and business-like.

La Guardia High School in NY ... that's the fame school - and it's the school mine (where I work) is modeled after. We do have singing and guitars and such in our halls though - it's pretty common I have to yell at kids to stop singing in class.

I am sure that I watched every episode. i watched for years and years after the series ended.
