Ben Stillers mom was in the movie , and Jada pinkett-smith was either in the movie or the TV show - memory is fading

They also have made this into a broadway show, that I believe is still running. Nothing like milking it ....

Someone who was a regular on the TV show did die of AIDS but I can't remember who.
Odd that Leroy did nothing with his carreer after..

What was her talent, I can't remember?

Oh Bruno, he had the weight of the world on his shoulders didn't he?

I hated that song he did about Mr Shorofsky (sp)
    Sh sh sh Shorofsky.

Yes smack on the head for me ...
Flashdance was Jennifer Beals and Jehanne (sp?) + numerous other body doubles do the dance .
    My brains on vacation.

On a fun note the people who actually DID the dancing for both movies were a couple in real life.

I believe "Doris" was a singer.

Also, in addition to her acting parts in the film and TV show, Debbie Allen choreographed both.

I loved the film, liked the TV show most of the time and still listen to the film soundtrack. Really, what I wanted was to BE one of those kids and go to a performing arts school.

Actually, I don't think Doris had any talent at all, that I recall. She was billed by her mother as a singer in the opening but she really didn't sing. She actually spoke more than anything else. I believe her audition was The Way We Were. Very poorly done, too.

I watched the movie and the show. Loved them both. It was SO my generation. Totally looking forward to this one! WOO HOOO!

On the commercial for the show, there are about three men wearing that Leroy outfit while they danced - the one from his audition for the school where he was wearing that little red thing around his shoulders and the dazy dukes and not much else... I thought it was an amusing image... Hopefully, this show doesn't go out like All American Girl, which could have been a better show if ABC had treated it better without messing up the schedule, delaying, cancelling, etc., plus getting it preempted at least once due to coverage of Bush.
