I'm SMH at how Nicole has come back and mixed things up.
Yep, this DOES take things up at LEAST a notch or two or three, because until Nicole's return, I was figuring Laura, Roy, Rod and Derek for F4.
Well, Rod blew himself out of the water by being hardheaded. He HAD the goods (self-taught, or not). But absolutely could/would not break himself out of that round-faced mold he'd placed himself into.
Derek, ITA, is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Like Rod, he's got the goods, but HIS problem is consistency.
Roy. I think it's more than safe to say he's on the bubble. And no, I don't think hardheadedness is the particular cross that he's bearing. Good as he is, if he can't downscale and downsize what it is he does every week, yep, I DO think he's a goner. Why he can't just figure out that for at least ONE challenge, he could and should reward himself by actually NOT working like a Hebrew slave, I'll never know. And I don't think Glenn COULD'VE made the panel's position ANY clearer.
So, much as I'd like to see him as one of the F2, I won't lose any sleep over it if he blows himself out of the water, either.
Laura. OK. Bad challenge. She's had her major screw-up, so, hopefully, it's onward and upward from here.
Nicole. There are, what? Two? Three challenges 'til the finale? If she keeps going like she HAS been the past two challenges, she just may be sitting at the top of the heap when the smoke clears, maybe. That kind of work, the quality, imagination, execution, etc., AFTER going out, CANNOT be ignored, I think.
We shall see.
