Apparently, Jason's design was so un-memorable that there's not one individual picture of it on the SyFy website.

How disappointing that they didn't include a close-up of Jason's madhatter! It was one of my favorite designs this week and I wanted to get a closer look at it than I got from my tv.

Poor Laura doesn't seem to have much self-confidence. I'm not sure why because she seems to be doing pretty good week after week. Maybe her designs aren't coming out as well as what she has in her mind but they're still better than what some of the worse designers are able to do. She should be safe for several more weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it to the finale.

Sarah's looks like a meerkat - and a bad one at that. Meerkats are MONGEESE too (or a relative), not a feline cat.

Roy's I still think works because the queen is turning into a chess piece. I do see why pikachu says it'd been better with at least a little more sheen on it. I don't think he really needed the detail on the chest though - we could probably figure out that they were boobs without the nipples. I do love the photo of the two of them together (then again I love it when the models interact and become the character).

Rod's severed head is what saved that look - if just: the head looks very lifelike. I thought it was a headcast of the model he had, but nope, not that case.

My main complaint - there are at least nine characters in the book they could use so WHY two of each character (Hatter/Cat/white rabbit/red queen) and one Alice?

There are: Hatter, cat, alice, white rabbit, the Door mouse, March Hare, caterpillar, white queen, and a couple of others I cannot think of off the top of my head.

    jade,

Like you, I wonder about why there were so many doubles of these characters.

The only reason I can see that this would be allowed would be to point up the differences in skill sets and ideas among the artists. I mean, if two people are doing one character, one of those is stellar and the other blows, that says something. Particularly if, I think, the one who had the stellar offering consistently winds up at or near the top. In one-person or MORE challenges.

That's the only thing I can think of.

I missed the part where they showed which character each of them chose, so when I saw Sarah's, I actually thought she'd chosen the White Rabbit. I was on the phone, so I was only half listening, but I heard a woman talk about the character's ears being chewed up and I thought that was Sarah's character. Obviously, I hadn't seen that long tail yet! Frankly, it looks more like a demented possum than a zombie cat.

    Demented possum...lololololololol!

I laughed so hard reading that, I'm shaking. My co-workers are probably wondering what I'm snickering at.

One tiny, and I mean tiny detail I noticed in Derek's Cheshire Cat makeup that I wonder if the Judge's also saw:

The cat's eye is crooked - the oval slit pupil is tilted slightly from up and down.

I do not know if that was intentional or not, but it also adds to the zombie effect. Pretty cool.
