I do think that they don't just keep the viewers favorites, but try to stir the pot, to keep it from going stale.

Sabrina didn't have the fanbase that the rest of the celebrities did. Always remember that half of this is a popularity contest.

Sabrina was the first celebrity who everyone just "assumed" was going to the finale and so no one really voted. It could just as easily been Kristi this season, had it not been for the fallout from Sabrina last season.

I don't think there is anything "illegal" with manipulating outcomes on reality tv. This is not a game show and there are no prizes ( of any value ) so no reason to regulate it.

My thought has been that the viewer's votes are not counted as a full 50% of the total points. I don't know, obviously, but it sure would explain some of the celebs that stay much longer than their ability merits.

I've said it before, but if everybody had one vote for the person to go rather than the favorite it would be more accurate.

I agree about the one vote per voter. It's apparent to me that the producers of DWTS care less about a worthy celeb winning than they do about viewers being involved in the process and thus being more likely to watch every show. However, after all is said and done the winner is always somebody that I can stand to watch and I still love this show. No one pretends that the best dancer necessarily wins or that the process is truly fair.
