Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

I don't understand why so many people keep putting an emphasis on her weight as if that is something to frown upon. She seems to be happy in her skin and embracing it. I find it very sad that people still have judgements against people who are overweight. As someone who was overweight in the past I am appalled that people find it humorous to make fun of others who don't fit what society deems accepting in appearance. Overweight does not equal "distgusting" or "ugly" etc. Yes she is very bubbly and shrieks a lot... and that is why i love the mute button. But I am happy to finally see someone who represents a large population of people in the world on tv.

I'm eager to see her go, too, but neither her weight nor her hair has anything to do with it. Stick figures are not the only people who should have the right to wear what they like or participate in activities they find enjoyable and fun. Neither should older people or those who've had cosmetic surgery.

I want Marissa gone because her dancing, while it has improved, is not as good as the other remaining couples.

I think her time is up... I think she has done a great job thus far but there are better dancers. She should be very proud of what she has accomplished.

Marissa may stick around for one more week based only on the fact that Christian may no longer be up to snuff with his bum arm. Remember that he has to do two new dances this week. With an injury such as the one he received his stamina will be affected as well as his ability to use the arm.

Unfortunately I suspect Marissa will be in the finals. I agree with you about Cristian, but the bubbly, plucky Marissa has already been kept in far too long. Every week people have been saying and hoping she goes. It isn't working. Won't surprise me if she wins.

Marissa's teeny bopper personality is grating. Time to stop giggling and screeching and act her age. This isn't Hairspray. I think(hope) she goes right after Cristian. I think she'll survive this week because I don't see Cristian being able to handle two dances with his injury.

I don't think anyone was making fun of Marissa because she is overweight. Her personality is her problem. I'm sure she thinks she is a great dancer but she is far from it. Tony is the reason she is still on the program. And yes, it would be hard for her partner to deal with her weight (lifting and maneuvering her size would be a hindrance) that is obvious. It has nothing to do with making fun of her. Her dancing is just not that good but Tony has dealt with it admirably.

I'll bet that she doesn't really weigh all that much. Isn't she pretty short--like around 5'0"? She looks heavy compared to all of the Skinny-Minis that she's surrounded by, but I'd be surprised if she started out weighing more than 140 lbs, and she would have lost weight by now. I doubt that she's putting a huge strain on Tony. He looks strong enough to handle it.

I do agree that she has a really grating personality. I don't like her, and I refuse to vote for her. She's improving as a dancer but not enough that I feel compelled to give her votes.

Why all the uproar about people complaining about her weight? I don't see a single person who dislikes her because of her weight.

A great many dislike her because of her pouting early and her ridiculous 15-year old attitude when she's praised. She annoys the heck out of me. (Oh... and also the 4 foot radius dance she had last week that was all pose, no dance. Ick.)
