Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

Marissa's Viennese Waltz was decent, but I don't think she deserved any 9s. Her long dress was an improvement.

But, re: group dance, when Tony eased her down from lift the camera showed us a view that was best kept hidden.

Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

I guess we'll agree to disagree (otherwise these posts would be pretty boring - lol!) but I think she's about where she should be.

There is no way she was worse than Adam or even Steve...both were stiff and had little musicality in their movements. Priscilla is a harder call, but she was going downhill, whereas Marissa has been steadily improving. So yes, I think she deserves to be still on the show.

If Tony stays smart and doesn't give her bad/easy choreography, she may be around for a few more weeks.

I take back every bad word I've said about Marissa! I thought she was great last night. She and Tony seem to love being theatrical.

So glad I missed that part! I was so bored with the group dance that I just fast-forwarded about a minute into it. Color me not impressed...

As much as I dislike this girl's personality, I do have to admit that her dance last night was very good.

I agree. This is a dance competition after all. Marissa gave her performance of the season last night, and not a moment too soon. I think she's finally figuring it out. The personality also seems to be getting under control. Based on her performance last night I think she deserves to stay in it.

I wanted to like her, but instead I’m finding her increasingly annoying. Yes, she is a Broadway performer and a Tony Award winner. So she should be performing better. Mostly she mugging, making faces, jumping around, and – oh yes, crying” “Oh, I messed up boo hoo, I can’t lift my leg like Shannon, and I can’t do a death spiral like Priscilla, sniff sniff, but I smile and laugh a lot and ARENT’T I CUTE even though I’m not a size 2, love me, love me, I’m so bubby you have to adore me.”

She needs to tone it down several notches.

Totally agree, Marissa's big toothy smile is turning me off, too many times, too often and just down right too much. Always loved Tony he is the best. Only pro dancer to even come close to Tony is Max (not sure of his name), what happened to Max he was always on the show but wasn't on this year? I did notice last year he started getting kinda full of himself though. Maybe that is why he isn't on the show this year.

I am so glad that Marissa has made it through to the top six. Congrats to her and Tony.

I think she is just a perky, adorable breath of fresh air. She does not come across as fake like some of the others.

I did notice that ABC didn't change much with the camera work between the Monday night group dance and the Tuesday night version.....EXCEPT they knew not to focus on Marissa's pudgy legs being shoved over by Tony during their solo. Live and learn. Good work, camera/directing crew!

His name is Maksim Chmerkovskiy. I saw an interview w/Maks the other night. He is still with DWTS, just not on this season (his choice) due to another cimmitment. Hs nothing to do with him being full of himself, which I don't think he is. He will be back next time. There is a thread "Where's Maks?" - you might want to take a look.

I agree with your Marissa comments. I detest her “look at me, I’m a loveable big gal, aren’t I adorable?” schtick. Her dancing is mediocre at best; I don’t care how much she has supposedly improved. The open-mouthed mugging & shrieking, the crying meltdown Begging for votes to save her. I also heard she’s getting a talk show. I wouldn’t be surprised if her gaming eventually leads to her winning.

Marissa is spoiled and extremely annoying. She’s a pebble in the shoe of a show I really enjoy. In that sense, I’ll be glad when this season ends.

I caught that, too. Thank goodness!
