Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

She doesn't bother me as much anymore.
That is because I have learned to MUTE anytime she is talking, and FF through her dances. (at least then it is almost up to the speed of the other dancers - literal speed, not talent wise at all)
She got off on the wrong foot with her 'poor little me' and '5 year old wanting attention' act. and then the BEGGING for votes - omg.
not much she can do now to salvage it with me. I definitely felt, at the least, Mario deserved to be there for another week.

Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

I think someone else, in a different post or thread pegged this right by saying it wouldn't be about her weight, if SHE would stop bringing it up! How many times does she have to remind us that she isn't a size 2. Heck very few people are size 2, but we don't go around using that excuse for everything we're not particularly good at!

Hi, I'm SuzieQ and I'm not a size 2 and I'm really trying to learn how to snowboard. Please vote for me, I'm perky.

It isn't her size, but the over-the-top, loud, giggly-personality and whining that bugs me.

I think she brings it up so much as just another way to gt votes and get people to adore her. "Look at me! I'm a big gal and I'm dancing! I smile a lot and I'm a brassy Broadway babe. Don't ya just love me?!!!!!!"

Sabrina was also a larger gal and she never mentioned it. She was a way better dancer than Marissa.

She reminds me of Brittany Murphy playing Lisa Swenson in Drop Dead Gorgeous with that mental laugh of hers.
She didn't bother me so much early on when there were other people to focus on, but now she grates on me.

Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

Good grief.

MySpace.com Blogs - Marissa Jaret Winokur MySpace Blog

From Marissa's myspace blog:

Amazingness

I have had a few (very few) spare moments to go through and read some of the amazing comments and messages on here and although I couldn't possibly start to respond to them individually (I HAVE DANCES TO LEARN!) I wanted to write a quick blog to acknowledge them!!

I got a message today from a girl named Heather who voted for me 615 times!!! WOW!! That's incredible!! You have no idea how moved I am by that!! I HONESTLY would not be in this competition any more if it weren't for you guys and I just HAD to thank you again!!

OK, off to dance!! If Tony knew I was on the computer and not working on my footwork he'd be furious!! Hahahaha!!

xoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Marissa

I suspect this "Heather" is something Marissa made up, althouhg I can easily see Marissa voting for herself 600 times. Or she wants people to outvote "Heather" and vote 700 times!!!!!!

To counter all this nonsense from Marissa and the Xena fans everyone shoudl vote, vote, vote for more deserving contestants AND tell their friends, co-workers, neighbors, people at the grocery store, etc. etc. to do the same.

Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

Give me a break! Everyone is supposed to get a certain number of votes (it varies week by week). Most people play by the rules and use only their allotted number of votes. This business of "stuffing" the ballot box is a sleazy business in politics, and its no better here (although the stakes aren't as high).

I think it is incredibly poor sportsmanship on the part of Marissa to participate in and to encourage others to participate in that sort of behavior. My opinion of her has just taken another dive. This time it's not due to her skills as a dancer or her personallity, but because of something much more important - her character. There is no way I will ever vote for her again even if she dances like Julianne Hough and acquires Juliannne's physique and personallity.

Re: Marissa Jaret Winokur & Tony Dovolani - Season 6

I hear ya, DancingDad.

I see nothing wrong with voting from cell, land line home phone, and even online for alloted number of times. So that's 15 - 20 votes at this stage. But stuffing the ballot box is exactly what's going on here.

Apparently Marissa and Lucy Lawless want people to vote (whether watching the show or not) and play their 8th grade games. Yeah, Marissa, don't bother to rehearse anymore. Just roll on the floor, stand up, grin, beg for more votes, and do whatever it takes to get everything you want. Hey, it's worked so far.

How disgusting.

A friend was saying she is so fed up with Marissa she's thinking of having flyers printed up revealing her game and droppping them from a skyscraper, handing them out on streetcroners, etc..

I see you posted her blog address. I might post my righteous indignation rant there - but it would probably get deleted before anyone had a chance to read it.

Darn, can't do it. You need a Myspace account to post.
