Yes, older set for sure. She has admitted to being born at different times over the years, publicly stating she was born in 1947, at other times saying 1949, and of course 1951 is the most year of birth given. But, what female entertainer born in 1951 would actually say they were born in 47 ......unless, she was actually born earlier than 1947? IMDB thinks she was born in 1941, so I think her age will be carefully guarded. Regardless, she is definitely one of the oldest celebs to have graced DWTS.

I don't care how old, how blonde, how made-up she is.
    I love Charo.
If she lasts only one episode (doubt it, because even at her age, I'll bet she can dance circles around Bachelor Vile Nick), good for her!

She is a gifted musician and I'm sure she will have a gifted sense of rhythm. I am looking forward to her dancing circles around most (if not all, of the men) this season. Her parents married her off in 1966 to a 66 year old man, so I am going to say she is also very courageous; and of course we all know she is charming. I believe she will be determined to succeed. I just hope she doesn't injure herself competing against some younger, energetic and also very charming celebs.

I guess she wanted to quit the show, complained she was underscored..

Yes, I think she wants to quit before she is evicted by us. She might feel it is a better way to exit, but I think it is unfortunate. It looks as if she is a poor loser. I think she hoped to be a contender and is disappointed (and shocked) that her public doesn't support her enough to keep her in longer. But, she is competing against some pretty good dancers that are younger and more energetic. I can only assume she never watched the show, or she would have realized that criticism is a large part of the show. If her manager pushed this as a jump start for her career comeback, she may not have realized how tough it gets.

Charo is indeed a "character". She actually danced this week and was pretty good. I noticed the camera picked up her son with his wife in the audience. He is quite a hunk and looks a lot like her in the face. He is a model and actor according to IMBD. Shes isn't as creaky as some of the other "elderly" ladies have been, but she should really stop the plastic surgery. She's starting to look like a wax model of younger self.

oh I think some wax models look much better than Charo herself does...have you seen any of the wax models by Madame Tussauds? They are famous for their strikingly near identical realistic looking wax models, many of their models look so lifelike and identical to their real-life counterparts that I've been fooled many times before lol! I love Madam Tussauds and their beautiful & exquisite lifelike wax models, many of them look even better than some of the actual people I've seen, Charo unfortunately being one of these less than appealing people, at least in terms of physical looks. I do like Charo's personality though, she's so vivacious and flamboyant and funny, I always enjoy watching her but my goodness, her face does look awful indeed with all the plastic surgery she's had over the years.

Erika is only 45. Take a good look at her face! Charo looks better of the two, imho.
