If you go back and read my original post, I specifically said that I didn't think Maksim should judge Val or Corky judge Mark either, because the principle remains the same. For that matter, I don't think Maksim would be a particularly good choice as a judge because he's also close to Tony, and he was formerly involved with Karina, though I didn't mention that at the time, because I was endeavoring to make a point about family members judging family members. There are other former pros they could have chosen who don't have such clear ties to those who are currently judging and thus eliminate potential accusations of favoritism, which would come up even if those judging strove to be as impartial as possible. I don't think it's fair to those judging or those being judged to be put in that position. And I hope that adequately clarifies my position.

And I really liked the side of and attitude I saw from Keyshawn tonight.

He is SO complimentary to Sharna.

    How LOVELY to see that!
When he said that, I wondered if he thought he might be going and wanted to make sure she was publicly complimented for all the work she'd put in with him--and good for him for doing so.

    Not to SAVE HIS SOUL.

Well, I suppose he and DL can meet up and cry on each others' shoulders!

Yeah, what was with Len and the eights tonight? I mentioned it particularly with the jives, because then you can compare the steps directly, but I didn't think Leah's samba was on the same level as Corbin's jive either. For that matter, I think those eight and nine paddles are getting a real workout this early in the season. If they start out scoring that high, where do they go later in the season?

Back in my day, our high school musical movie had one name that started with G and ended with E.

To be fair, Bill Nye really was worse, but he's got that strong nerd herd supporting him. And Keyshawn wasn't enough better to outweigh that--and since neither of them is likely to win, it didn't bother me that much, particularly since some NFL players have been known to last longer than they should have because of their popularity too, and Keyshawn seemed okay with it. If, however, Bill Nye outlasts a number of people who are better than he is (and at this point, all of them who are left are better than he is), that will bother me, even if he is a really nice guy.
