I know Louis is doing the ballroom battle, and has been tweeting about that (sounds like it's something being pre-taped), so I'm thinking he'll be back, along with the others that are doing that. Those pros are already confirmed. So I worry it sounds like we'll be saying good bye to Chelsie and Anna Chelsie's been the only new pro they've added in recent seasons that I really enjoyed, and who kept coming back. The other ones, like Lacey, whom I don't like, stick around. I loved Fabian Sanchez back during season 6, Anna Demidova in season 9, and Damian Whitewood in season 10. With the exception of Anna D., the other two seemed likeable and as though they got a bit of a fan base. So it figures TPTB never give them a second chance but keep the likes of Lacey around. If there's anyone besides Mark who has an offense with camera mugging, bad and boring choreography, and making it all about themselves, along with not being able to take the criticism but talk big about breaking the rules, it's her. If she could get Rob Kardashian and they could both exit the ballroom early, I'd be happy. I hope this isn't the last we see of Chelsie and Anna. I'd rather see Dmitry back over Lacey and Mark. Hopefully, these new pros are likeable, and less like Mark and Lacey. I remember Leeann Rimes saying she'd been asked to join the show, but would only do it if she could be partnered with Benji Schwimmer, who I guess is a friend of her's and whose choreographed for her music videos. He's one of the last people I'd want to see added. One Schwimmer is enough for me, and I've never liked him the few times he's done pro numbers.

I'm thrilled Tony and Karina will be back, but I'm going to be really sad if Anna doesn't return. Bad enough we already lost Jonathan, but losing Anna as well, would be awful. I'm not too crazy about the idea of bringing in new pros. While I liked Damian and Fabian a lot, I love most of our current pros, and hate the thought of them being replaced. I'd also rather not see more SYTYCD pros.

My apologies about Vienna Girardi. I should have checked into it more.

Elisabetta Canalis is very well known in Italy. She has been in a few movies, she has co hosted a few TV shows, has been on some TV series and she co hosted the San Remo Music Festival in Feb/11 which is like being asked to host the Oscars, but even better. Its a huge event in San Remo Italy, since the early 50's.

She probably wants to do more on U.S soil and what better way to start then to be on DWTS.

DWTS Gossip has a couple of links that show both Jenna Jameson and Chaz Bono are following some of the pros. Doesn't mean they're on, but I could totally see the show going for both (especially Chaz). The Slovak Republic's version of DWTS is featuring a same sex couple (the third version to do so), but I could see DWTS going for a transgender contestant. I like Chaz, so I'd be fine with that. Just don't give him to Lacey. He'd be a good choice for Cheryl or Kym. Mark had said he'd be fine with being a same sex partnership-his choice is Ricky Martin (dream on, Ballas). I don't know if I trust the show not to exploit a same sex partnership or casting someone transgendered for the worst, just like I don't trust the media to turn it into a political debate. This could be like Bristol all over again. With few exceptions, I thought last season was one of the best in a long time. No ringers, but nearly everyone was on equal footing; likeable characters that you wanted to root for, who tried hard, and wanted to be there and please their fans and partners; fun routines; and no god awful controveries, showmances, or stunt casting. No huge drama between the pros and judges (with the exception of Mark and his ego). I'm not sure I'm looking forward to this season, based on paper. A "reality star" who I don't think even qualifies as that, a porn star, what may be another predictable outcome, a possible ringer, two of my favorite pros not being asked back (while two of my least favorite pros are not only returning, but involved in whatever the ballroom battle is-hopefully Mark's head explodes if he doesn't get the praise he thinks he deserves).

I'm wondering if this "new development" Maks was talking about, and also why he's returning, along with rumors of new pros, means his brother is finally joining People blamed Maks when Dmitry wasn't back before, so I'm sure he'll get blamed again, especially if Val is joining. I looked up Chaz's height; is it accurate he's only 5'1"? He looks taller, but he'd be way too short for Cheryl and Kym. I wouldn't be surprised if they wind up doing a same sex duo with him and possibly Louis. Cheryl said in an interview that the pros start rehearsals August 25th, so we'll probably get more official spoilers after that. The last two years, the entire cast has been spoiled, with the exception of Kyle Massey and Mike Catherwood (neither of whom were on the radar).

So the casting rumors for now remain with: Dina Lohan, Melissa Gilbert (haven't heard much on either on since early after season 12), Snooki, Tiffini Thiessen, Queen Latifah (all of whom have said they aren't doing it, but I'm adding them anyway), Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallri (both of whom are supposedly confirmed to be signed on), Christina Milan, and now Jenna Jameson and Chaz Bono.

My heart breaks thinking Chelsie and/or Anna won't be back this season, but maybe it's for the best. Fall seasons aren't usually good compared to the spring.

I didn't add it in time to edit it into my original post, but other casting rumors are Elizabeth Calas (sp?), also allegedly confirmed; Chyna Phillips, Nick Jonas, Lorenzo Lamas, Faye Dunaway, Mike Tyson, Sherri Shepard, Shaquille O'Neal (all 3 have said they aren't doing it but might as well add them anyway), Hope Solo (first she wasn't, now it sounds like she might), Elle MacPhearson

Jenna Jameson started following both Tony and CA a month or so ago. It seems like the only ones who have any sort of concrete standing are Christina Milan, Chaz Bono, Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallri, and Elizabeth (George's ex-and side note, but he's reportedly dating former DWTS contestant Stacy Keibler now).

In retrospect, since there was no controversy, I am now wondering if all of the Mark hooplah was a set-up by the producers to provide what little drama there was. Let's see if he picks up where he left off with his behavior. If not, then it might have been a bit of a ploy. We did hear that the pros were encouraged to back-talk the judges, so I don't think I would be terribly surprised if Mark was encouraged to act out like he did to stir the pot some. Although he didn't do very well, he did get a chance to choreograph a number on SYTYCD, and he is going to be back this season, so his outrageous behavior must not have ruffled the feathers of the producers - just ours.

I think even if TPTB didn't agree with Mark's attitude and behavior, if it's drawing a negative reaction, it's still a reaction. Last season there was as much anti-Mark sentiment as there was Ralph, Kirstie, and Hines love. Poor Chelsea got caught in the cross fire of Mark's ego and self serving choreography. Looking back at some of their routines, he stands out, but she barely does. Since the producers see what happens behinds the scenes, they know just how much of an anti-fan base Mark has. Maybe it's not as bad as we think. But he definitely struck a nerve last season, and it appears that feeling keeps growing. It didn't help the producers basically gave him a free pass to the finals since he didn't appear to have the votes, while kicking a hard working, more likeable and appealing fan favorite to the curb. I've always been acurious if a pro really does carry their partner, if that person have a minimal fan base. Would Brooke or Joanna have made it as far as they did without Derek? Could Kate Gosselin, as bad of a dancer as she was, and as disliked as she was, lasted longer with Derek? I know if I like the celeb enough, even if I don't know much about them, if they're paired with Maks, I'm willing to give them my vote. I wouldn't vote for them just because they were with my favorite pro, just like I wouldn't not vote for them if they got a pro I disliked (though with Mark and Lacey it'd be really hard). Mark used to be seen in the same fandom light as Derek and Julianne, and grouped in as a part of a golden trio. He seemed to have the same good ol'boy next door, all-American qualities and was such a pleasure to watch for his fans, along with putting out decent routines and choreography that stood out and weren't all about spot lighting him. It seems in the last few seasons the tide has begun to turn. Last season broke the straw for a lot of people online. But if his attitude and antics have people talking, I can see why the producers would think he's ratings gold. I think he's more of a loose cannon than Maks. Whereas most of the pros seem to take issue with what CA and Bruno have to say, Mark's nemesis seems to be Len. And, I don't think Mark gets it. Maybe I wouldn't either, if I was him. I can't remember, but did they address on the show last season about Mark's hand gesture that made it look like he was giving a jerk off motion to the judges? I remember Mark saying it was a rolling the dice gesture to his dad after he got reamed by the judges for whatever routine he did that they didn't like. It didn't sound like Mark's attempt on SYTYCD went over well, from what I read, so I'll be curious if he's ever back to choreograph again. It also made me wonder if the producers put him as one of the ballroom battle captains because they know it'll cause drama and controversy with the judges, because I'm sure it'll be the same spastic choreography we're used to from him. I've read, and I think posted, that the producers have encouraged the couples to talk back to the judges. I know on SCD they do that a little more than over here, but it seems like some cracks are starting to show. But look what happens, Maks lashed out over what he thought was unfair criticism towards Brandy, and he puts him in a tough spot of possibly costing her. I do realize that TPTB don't care, but I'd rather the pros just zip it and let the fans go harass CA on twitter. I can usually tell when she's had a rough week.

And something else to add about Val possibly joining his big brother on the show-along with everything that's been said about some development happening and Maks being excited, Val retired tonight from competitive dancing. I remember him saying in an interview once he wouldn't join the show until he stopped competing. Now that he has, maybe he'll finally join the line up. That would make my season It'd be funny if Val won on his first attempt, while Maks has made the finals 4 times and never won yet. I really can't wait for more spoilers to come out this week, and I hope they're good ones. So far, none of the rumored celebs that seem likely are appealing to me. Could be the first year I watch just for the pros.

I also have a rather sneaky suspicion that the producers are keeping a watch on what is drawing the most reaction, but rather than give us what we want (no ringers for Derek), we are going to get those things that they think will cause us to continue to raise a stink and yell to high heaven. They want that publicity, and they don't care if it bad/negative publicity. Therefore, we will get Mark again, and we will get the rebel Lacey over perhaps sweet, compliant Anna. I think we need to look for these things to happen, and I think we need to consider that they are done deliberately to stir us up and keep the controversy going.

Bloomers I agree with what you have to say with one exception: I don't think we can classify Anna as sweet and compliant! One thing I like about her is her firey temper. Wasn't it on season 2 that she treatened to walk on Maks' face or something to that effect? Her tiny stature and doll-like appearance cover up the fact that she's one tough (and passionate) cookie. She just doesn't put it out there all the time. Now Chelsie seems to me to be the sweeter, more compliant one - and I adore them both!

Of the 2 of them, I much prefer Anna.
I think she's a far better dancer and choreographer. I still cringe when I think about that ridiculous doggie dance that Chelsie choreographed for Michael Bolton. Shameful!!
And, I have never found Chelsie all that sweet, personally.
