Can you just imagine Martha Stewart and Maks butting heads? She has a reputation as a hard nosed, take no prisoners type of woman. I wonder how she would do having someone tell her what to do. Especially Maks. Not that I want him sacrificing a season to butt heads with her. Give her to Dmytri!

While I love Betty White too, she has repeatedly said that she doesn't want to do DWTS. I believe they've even asked her and she told them no too.

In fact, she did this parody of "I'm flying" for the TV Land awards a couple of years ago - dressed as Nellie complete with corset and ringlets. That case, she was also harnessed to a flier and had to fly around.

If she could handle that, she can handle the show. Also, her advocacy areas need a little more light to them, especially the abused children one (doubly if she is a spokeswoman for CASA), and it'd be a GOOD reason to have her on the show as a "public activist" (or whatever Bristol was seen as).

I don't know if she works with CASA or not. I know she works with PROTECT, which seeks to change laws that make it more difficult to prosecute child abusers (e.g. the infamous "incest exceptions"), among other things. When I heard her speak, she had a petition--also available on line at protect.com--asking for better funding for FBI investigations of on-line child porn, a frightening amount of which is "homegrown." She's a survivor of child abuse herself, so it's a cause close to her heart. She's worked with AIDS related groups since her close friend and on-screen husband Steve Tracy (aka Percival) was diagnosed with AIDS in the 1980s. He's since passed way, but she continues to work with AIDS charities. She, and Little House, also have a huge international audience, so if DWTS is aired elsewhere, she could help them there. When I talked to her, she wasn't familiar enough to have a choice of pro. I suggested Maks, but the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking she'd be great with Louis, if she's not too tall. Her enormous gay fanbase would love that.

There are several skaters that'd fit your requirements - Nancy Kerrigan, Tara Lipinski, etc. I'm not sure any would want to do it, but there are several including Hamill (BTW a good choice too) to look at.

I don't know about Nancy, except that she might run into problems being expressive enough for the judges, as she was more of an athletic than artistic skater. Tara is doing commentary for Universal Sports, but she has acting ambitions, so she might be willing to do the show.

Male skaters save Evan tend to be really short (Scott Hamilton and Paul Wylie - the two I could see do this, are about 5'5" or so), so I'd be surprised if any competed unless it was with the shorter dancers.

As much as I adore Paul Wylie, I don't think he'd be available, because of his other projects. Ditto Scott, though he did find time for Celebrity Apprentice. I'd like to see a male pairs skater take a shot. They'd be used to partnering and, if a male pairs skater got to the finale...well, he could flip and lift his partner like nobody's business.

I still keep my hopes up for actresses such as Connie Sellecca or an older actress and would like to see someone like William Katt (though admittedly he could be seen as a ringer - he can dance) or Fred Grandy (Gopher on the Love Boat) or Bernie Koppell on the show. Someone who people would be interested in seeing again, could possibly dance and best of all isn't either hot, young or gimmicky (well unless they had say Katt wear the red superhero suit again he wore on "Greatest American Hero.")
Is Fred Grandy still active in politics? I believe he was either a senator or representative from Iowa for a while. Not that anyone would think of him first as a politician, but if he's still an active politician, he's probably too busy for the show.

When she mentioned it, I think she either said there was a facebook campaign to get her on the show or someone offered to start one for her. She's on Twitter--and actually helped someone get on Twitter for the first time herself while she was sitting around after her speaking gig (I literally found her sitting on the steps of the auditorium by herself a short time after she finished speaking at the book festival, and we must have talked for a good ten or fifteen minutes; she's absolutely the least diva-ish celebrity you can possibly imagine). If you are, you can ask her for yourself.

What about Pete Sampras for a male tennis player?

I'd love to see Maks and Martha butt heads! But I really want to see Maks win next time so he needs someone younger...

Re Alison Arngrim: I forgot to add that her response to someone asking if she thought she had an easier time being a teen star in the 1970s, when there wasn't the pressure to grow up too fast, have a sex tape etc. was, "And what makes you think I don't have a sex tape?" She then laughed and asked, "Can you imagine if I actually had done one? Would I have had to wear the wig?" The person who asked the question offered to start a Twitter rumor that such a thing existed, just so Alison could see if she could lead TMZ on a wild goose chase, but I don't think the National Enquirer or TMZ took the bait.

She'd be a hoot and a half on the show, I think, and she actually wants to do it.

    I love it!!!!

Someone mentioned Pete Sampras, I don't know if he would do it. Even in his heyday he was a pretty low key player.

I worry that Maks may get a dud next season since he had 2 successful runs (even though that doesn't seem to apply to all pros). But, given how this season went, and how unhappy he was, plus Brandy's shocking elimination, maybe he'll get the next version of the ringer/shows favorites. I hope so, if he's back. I don't think it was any coincidence they had Maks back on GMA with the final 3

I say pair Martha with Derek He may have just had an older partner, but something tells me Martha won't be such a fan favorite going in.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pete Sampras. I know Andre Agassi mentioned a few seasons back he was considering doing the show. There's a lot of fields of sports they haven't ever picked from or any did once or twice.
