Ok, those who like him think his comments are no big deal and those who like Melissa find fault with him, so what else is new?
What I see is a person who pushes himself very, very hard. He takes on routines that are more difficult than anyone else, he has the most demanding, unsympathetic coach of anyone, and the last time I checked he was still unquestionably the best dancer out there.
Current tally of first place finishes:
    Gilles - 5
    Shawn - 1
    Melissa - 1
    Lil Kim - 1
So if this is how he pushes himself, he should keep it up.
it is always the other way around LOL

They ALL push themselves - to their max ability - he is not unique in that respect - others also take on difficult routines as well.

Guess his true colors are showing - aaww gee LOL

And they've all, each and every one of them (including Melissa), complained about something.

Now, I admit to thinking that MATH is a four-letter word, so SDL, you've been so good with the statistics, do you think you could do a conversion chart showing the scores of all the dancers, now that Gilligan has declared that an EIGHT is really just a THREE when it's awarded to him? Man, that's going to be tough to figure out percentages for the dancers with the negative numbers. . .

He complained. No need to dwell on it

Does anyone have any clue what the dances next week maybe?

Next week begins the unlearned dances, so no more new dances. Gilles already knows what he's doing, but no clue on anyone else.

And his shoulder hurt, and I'm sure that weighs on his mind before he goes out and performs. Steve-O's mentioned his back hurting several times. So what's the big deal? The really whining comes from Mr. Julianne and the unfunny comedic genius DAG. This show has done special packages during the results show on the injuries throughout the seasons before so they live for it.

Which will apparently require a "reverse" Samson and Delilah:

    What's up for next week?

(GILLES): We are going to do a Viennese waltz. We're going to see another side of me, more sophisticated and sensual and a very different tempo. I will get a tight haircut on the sides.

I just watched several interviews with Gilles and not once did he complain. The interviewer or Cheryl brought up the injuries and all he said about it is "I need surgery and after the show I will get it fixed. In one of the interviewers brought up that they were in New York this week for a charity Gilles was involved in and Cheryl mention yes they practiced hard for 5 days 6-8 hours and he did not get the dance until Sunday. He teased her about being a slave driver. Unlike Mel when told dancing comes easy for her she whines and complains its not like we practice one day and have the rest off, then later states they work hard for 2 days and have fun with it the rest.

I've never known of a doctor who wouldn't have vetoed that. I don't doubt for a minute that he hurt his shoulder but separated it? I just don't think so. He is dancing very well and really doesn't need that excuse.
Whatever the extent of his shoulder injury, with any shoulder injury, it is very difficult to be doing the kind of dances Gilles has performed. There are all kinds of shoulder injuries with some more extensive than others. I don't downplay his injury at all..just because it may not be a separated shoulder.
