Helio was really very, very good this week especially in the Samba. He looked just like one of the professionals and very sexy! I hope they stay and I'll be throwing votes their way. Marie, Mel, Cameron then toss up with Jen Helio

I tend to agree with you because I thought Tom distinctly said that Marie was "NOT in the bottom two" thus was safe, not just that "Marie is safe". (I could be wrong here though. I can understand the logic that this tactic would be used had she been in the bottom two, but there could well be other reasons for not having naming the bottom two. One indication of shaking things up was the hilarious Dance Center--LOVED it. It makes sense that by not naming the other bottom two couple fans would tend to vote normally rather than skewing the voting by rallying around the nearly eliminated couple. History has shown that this happens, imo. I also feel that Cameron was no better of a dancer than Marie and Marie has never been in the bottom two, has she? (Correct me if I'm wrong here,).Sabrina's elimination appeared to have shaken things up a tad and I think that this change of not announcing the bottom two may be one of them.

I thought so too at first glance but then the second time they showed her not too sure because her face seems longer and thiner.

Yay Mel! I thought that dance was fabulous and definitely deserved the encore. For the first time all season I actually watched her and not Maks... that's quite the accomplishment. As usual the encore is a bit better than the performance one (they always are so much more relaxed).

Marie really surprised me in the performance show and I was glad to hear she was safe. I haven't been a fan of hers all season (she's too campy!) but she really pulled it off last night.

I was certain (with the way voting has been going this season) that Jennie would be going home but I couldn't help the little satisfied smirk when it was announced that Jane was out of there. Guess her attempts at image changing (the smile and playing around on performance night) were too little too late to repair the damage already done by all her off-screen antics.

LeAnn... wow... I did not recognize her!! I thought the back-up singer was her. She looked horrible and I could have sworn her voice wasn't that deep before.. it used to sound more like Patsy Cline.. what happened to her? I did love the songs and I especially loved the move Julianne did at the very end where she spun all over and around Tony.. nice!

HATED the performance group... I wish they would stick to just show casing ballroom pros on this show instead of venturing out.

As usual, I found almost nothing funny about Kenny and his rude skit. I would rather have Jimmy and his parking garage guy,

I thought Jane leaving was fair. I didn't get to see much of the program (since the biggest loser needed me more), so can't wait to read the recap!

I didn't watch the show so I don't know what Tom said before he announced that Marie was safe. I still think she was most likely in the bottom two. As far as stirring things up, the producers LOVE to have drama, any kind, good or bad. There is no such thing as bad publicity.

There has been so much manipulation of the outcome this season. No rhyme or reason to the scoring by the judges, other than to manipulate who stays and goes. Usually the score manipulation doesn't come until the very end, when they seem to give identical scores to the final 3, so as to make the viewers vote decide the winner.

I hope in the next season (if there is one) that they try to level the physical abilities a bit more. The "mature" stars have such a disadvantage. 65 year olds just don't move like 23 year olds.
    Tahoe bound....

You can't. The best you can do is take the judges ranking then do the math for the various permutations. For example, someone in 1st on the judges card can't be booted off unless they're dead last in fan vote.

For example, MelMax's possible total points ranged from 2 to 7. By contrast, CamDtya's range from 6 to 11. For CamDyta to "beat" MelMax, they need to be at least 2nd in fan vote.

Interesting, thanks Aceon. jmo, but to me it looks like Cameron will probably be next to go. Did Tom say that Cam was "not in the bottom two" or just safe? Either Marie or Cam was in the bottom two and those words
were used for one of the couples.

They did not reveal a "bottom 2" last night, only who was leaving.

Cam should not be the next to go. Let's hope all of us Cam fans vote in force next week. He is scheduled to be at Super Soap Weekend this weekend so hopefully he will use that opportunity to promote voting for him and Edyta.

She grew up. LeAnn Rimes sounded like Patsy Cline when LeAnn was 13. She is now 23, I believe.

I'm not a big fan of the dark, penciled eyebrows/blonde hair combination, either. Christina Aguilera is currently sporting heavily penciled eyebrows, too, and they look equally as horrid.

Live vocal gymnastics last night aside, LeAnn Rimes performs "How Can I Live" hands down better and with more emotion than Trisha Yearwood ever did.... and I love Trisha Yearwood. I'm not a fan of the gymnastics that Reba, Lorrie Morgan were famous for, either, and booed LeAnn's first performance last night right along with most of you. "Nothing Better to Do" is a fun song... and I enjoyed that one.

That will never happen, as it would cost them a huge chunk of their viewership. As Tom Bergeron has said on several talk shows, the majority of viewers watch because they like seeing old favorite celebs in a new format, getting to watch them on tv again, even if only for a short time, and for the entertainment factor of watching them perform, whether they do it well or not. Many of us don't care if they can't move as well as a 20 year old, that isn't why we watch. If you try to keep 'physical abilities' to a more standardized age, such in the 20's as you mentioned, the show would lose most of it's appeal, not to mention the big chunk of viewers -- including me -- who aren't that interested in watching yet another show geared to only the younger crowd.
I live in my own world. But it's ok, they know me there.
Kid Nation... a sad day for society when the exploitation of children becomes acceptable entertainment for television viewers.
