Re: Bill Engvall & Emma Slater - Season 17

If you've never seen one of Bill Engval's shows, I recommend that you check it out on Netflix or whatever. The man is comedy genius. He has a shtick of "Here's your sign". Basically, people say dumb things, so Bill suggests we should give them a "sign" when they do. Keith Urban even recorded a song based upon Bill's work:

    http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/e...ture-5978.html

    I just hate stupid people.

They should have to wear signs that just say I'm stupid.
That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you?
You wouldn't ask them anything. It would be like, "Excuse me...oops,never mind"
    "I didn't see your sign."

It's like before my wife and I moved from Texas to California our house was full
of boxes and there was a u-Haul truck in our driveway.
My friend comes over and says, "Hey, You moving?"
    "Nope."
"We just pack our stuff up once or twice a week. Just to see how many boxes it takes."

    "Here's your sign."

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...
Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

A couple of months ago I went fishing with a buddy of mine, we pulled
his boat into the dock, I lifted up this big 'ol stringer of bass this idiot on
the dock goes, "Hey, yall catch all them fish?"

    Nope.

    "Talked 'em into giving up."

    "Here's your sign."

I was out in the front yard with my boy the other day and he was
playing with his little friend, and he hit his friend and I went up to
him and I said "Hey, (smacks his boy), we don't hit." He looked up at me
    like, "Here's your sign, dad."

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...

Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

I was watching one of those animal shows on the Discovery Channel, there
was a guy inventing a shark bite suit. There's only one way to test that.
"Alright Jimmy, you got that shark suit on, it looks good... They want
you to jump into this pool of sharks, and you tell us if it hurts when they bite
    you."

"Well allright....hold my sign, I don't wanna loose it"

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...

Here's your sign. Here's your sign.

Last time I was home I was driving around I had a flat tire, I pulled my
truck into one of these side-of-the-road gas statioons, the attendant walks out, looks
at my truck, looks at me, I swear to GOD he went, "Tire go flat?"

    I couldn't resist.

    I said "Nope".

"No I was driving around and those other three just swelled right up on
    me."

    "Here's your sign."

Why can't they get the picture? Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes, we're talking about the modern man.

So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds...
People with them little bitty teenie weenie tiny minds...

    Here's your sign.

We were trying to sell our car about a year ago, a guy come over to the
house, drove the car around for about 45 minutes. We get back to the house, he gets out
of the car, reaches down and grabs the exhaust pipe, then goes, "Damn thats hot!"

    See...

If he'd been wearing his sign, I could have stopped him.

I am really starting to take a shine to this guy.

Like Corbin, I didn't have clue ONE who he was before he popped up on my screen on DWTS this season.

He IS a charmer, and I plan on thoroughly enjoying him before whenever it is that he goes!

I really like him too. He's just genuine and has a sense of humor that I like. I say things to people like the comments in that song ... by the way.

That is probably why his humor appeals to me.

He did it on the show. Brooke asked him if he was nervous/worried about doing the Jive when Karina & Corbin and Derek & Amber ... were also doing the jive.

He said something like No ... why would I be worried when they are 20-30 years younger than me. (Brooke should have many signs!)

I think he is charming. I don't think he should have been in the bottom 2.

Brooke said her famous line ... these may or may NOT be the bottom two ... but the one going home is definitely the bottom.... or something like that, so maybe he was not.

I wish we had a "poll" here to get an idea who people think have the most positive qualities.

I know he may not be as technically great at movement, but he is not "bad" and he appears he gives it his all.

I think they need trophies and set points for all the "parts" of a dance that Len recited.

I don't remember all of them but, movement, footwork, content, musicality and story ... I think were some of them?

Yeah, I liked his list. I just wish I had a better memory.

Yes, and he looks like he is having fun. He is way different than I thought. I guess maybe I was wrong, and he wasn't in the bottom 2.

It was made to look like he was in the bottom 2, but because Tom worded it the way that he did to indicate that only the one leaving really received the lowest votes, we have come to realize that means that Bill was not really in actual bottom 2 at all.
When it is the true bottom 2, Tom does not use the words "not necessarily" in connection with the 2 people standing up there. They are necessarily the ones!

Somebody with a better memory than mine needs to remember the exact wording of the two situations.

It seems like shell game to me Bloomers.Just say who the bottoms two are be done with it, I think we are all adult enough to handle it.
