Of course the rehearsal packages influence the fans. That is how we get to know these "stars" that we may have never heard of. We then either connect with them or do not like them too much. ... that all transcends to our viewing them dance. For example the athletic football quarterback might be seen as the arrogant jock and thus we watch and our inner HS demons want to knock him down a peg or two... he really doesn't point his toe does he??? Or we can see the athletic quarterback as a loving husband and father who enjoys a tea party with his daughters.. How endearing is that? I don't know a dad who can dance as well as he does... Isn't he great?
Okay I love FORT's casino, but I really am not very good. If anyone wants to donate their FORT $$ I would gladly accept http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forum....php?do=donate

    Bristol gets own show

Bristol Palin's assault on the reality show world continues.

After prancing through "Dancing With the Stars" and featuring in her mom's "Sarah Palin's Alaska" series last fall, 20-year-old Bristol is getting a reality series to call her own.

BIO has announced that it has ordered 10 episodes of a half-hour, as-yet-untitled series starring the single mom as she moves from her Alaska home to Los Angeles, with her 2-year-old son Tripp in tow. (Bristol's ex-boyfriend and baby-daddy Levi Johnston won't be joining them.)

In the series, she'll be working at a small charity and living with former child stars-turned-singers Christopher ("Zoey 101") Massey, 21, and his brother, Kyle ("That's So Raven"), 19 -- fast friends since she and Kyle were both "DWTS" contestants.

Cameras will bring viewers an exclusive look at Bristol's private life, the network says.

"Her personal life has been playing out in the media for several years, but this will be the first time she's opening up her real life, with her son and her friends the Massey Brothers," A&E and BIO's executive vice president of programming David McKillop said in a statement.

The series is expected to air at the end of the year.

Last March it was announced that Bristol will co-write a book, "Not Afraid of Life," about her life, family and faith, which will hit stores this summer.

It's been reported that she was paid almost $340,000 for promoting abstinence after giving birth to Tripp, out of wedlock, in 2008.

On the subject about rehearsal packages not influencing viewer votes; wasn't that sort of the point of Mark's last night? To try and paint him in a more humble light and make people try and vote for Chelsea and not take Mark's actions into account? And on another DWTS related note, Kate said she'd never return to the show for any reason even if she was asked. Of course her gravy train of a TV show hasn't been cancelled yet, so stayed tuned.

Yeah, real classy there Kate. She was never allowed near the Emmys until she went on DWTS. After DWTS, she was performing in the opening number with Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm and the cast of Glee. That's gratitude for ya. No wonder nobody liked her.

    Re: DWTS Media Thread

The promotion of single motherhood is baffling. Especially teen mom promotion. It makes me sick. Why? Because these babies born to unwed mothers will never have a shot at a normal life. Even though this girl has enough money she is moving around constantly it appears, she's here, she's there her kid is on TV with no say about it living with strangers. He will be away from his grandparents and rest of the family. Sure, you can say what you want but a normal life would be an emotionally mature, married couple having children because they are ready to love someone more than themselves and their main focus will be for their child until said child can fend for him/herself. At least these good intentions should be honored/attempted even if they fail to live up to them, it should at least start out that way. Whatever happened to children being born out of an expression of a loving, married relationship? The worst thing is that all of society will bear the brunt of a dysfunctional society. Things were bad enough before without adding to the problem. Charities and government programs cannot keep up with the massive shift from family to agency sustenance for the single mother and they shouldn't be expected to. I volunteer for charities a lot and I can tell you the massive amount of assistance goes to single mothers with multiple children with multiple fathers or unknown fathers. It's pretty hard to see people making their own misery which then becomes everyone's problem because of that misery. Not to mention the children are so innocent and have done nothing wrong to deserve this type of existence. Many are abused by the revolving door of new boyfriends that have absolutely no interest in them and often abuse or even kill them or sometimes the mother is killed and the children become wards of the state. Some grow up in shelters or on the run from abusive pasts. There is never a normal day. I apologize as I do not have a good attitude about this.

SEMIFINAL EVER, ON "DANCING WITH THE STARS," MONDAY, MAY 16 ON ABC

TUESDAY FEATURES UNFORGETTABLE APPEARANCES BY FAVORITE "DWTS" ALUMS,
PLUS ONE LAST ELIMINATION TO DETERMINE SEASON 12'S FINAL THREE COUPLES,
ON "DANCING WITH THE STARS THE RESULTS SHOW," MAY 17 ON ABC

Legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks Performs Two Songs Live on Tuesday

Rocking Performance from Music Sensation Pitbull Featuring Ne-Yo also Tuesday

"Episode 1209" - The competition is closer than ever as the four remaining pairs perform three pressure packed routines -- one ballroom and one Latin dance they've not yet done, and one winner-takes-all Cha Cha -- for the chance to make it to the Season 12 finals, on "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, MAY 16 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET/PT), on the ABC Television Network.

Tuesday's exciting two-hours of dance begin with "Dancing with the Stars Live: Freestyle Special," in which "DWTS" alums Apolo Anton Ohno (Season 4 champion), Donnie Osmond (Season 9 champion), Warren Sapp (Season 7 finalist) return to the ballroom to provide color commentary on their memorable individual freestyle routines. In addition, "DWTS" pros and the dance troupe perform two medleys to some of the best music from past freestyles. Season 2 winners Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke will also be back to perform their fan favorite freestyle, "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy," on "Dancing with the Stars Live: Freestyle Special," TUESDAY, MAY 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

Then, on "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show: Episode 1209A," TUESDAY, MAY 17, (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), one semifinalist couple will leave the ballroom and the three Season 12 finalist couples will be determined. On this action packed Results show, guest musical artist, Grammy Award-winning and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks performs two songs, the iconic "Landslide," accompanied by Tony and Cheryl on the dance floor, and the new single "Secret Love" from "In Your Dreams" -- her first new CD in over a decade -- accompanied by Dmitry, Anna, Peta and Damian on the dance floor. Also this Tuesday, music sensation Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo and Nayer perform his single, "Give Me Everything," from his newest album, "Planet Pit."

Rock & Roll's reigning queen, Stevie Nicks recently released her new CD, "In Your Dreams," which was her first CD of new material since the release of her Grammy-nominated "Trouble in Shangri-La" 10 years ago. "In Your Dreams" was written and recorded at Nicks' Los Angeles home and was co-produced by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. Nicks and Stewart co-wrote 7 of the album's 13 songs, including her first single, "Secret Love," which is currently on iTunes. Nicks recently joined forces with fellow rocker Rod Stewart for the 16-city Heart & Soul Tour which began March 20th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A multi-Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Nicks' extraordinary career as a solo artist, songwriter, live performer and member of Fleetwood Mac is legendary. Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" was one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Nicks penned such Mac classics as "Landslide," "Dreams," "Gold Dust Woman" and "Rhiannon." As a solo artist, beginning with the five-time platinum debut "Bella Donna," her solo hits include unforgettable singles such as "Edge of Seventeen," "Leather and Lace" and "Stand Back."

Cuban-American music sensation Pitbull builds on his global success with his sixth album, "Planet Pit," available June 21, which features guests Marc Anthony, Chris Brown, T-Pain, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland and Sean Paul. He collaborated with Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer on his new single, "Give Me Everything." Already climbing the charts, the song is poised to pick up where Pit's multi-platinum smash hits "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," "Hotel Room Service" and "Hey Baby (Drop It on the Floor)" left off. Pitbull recently introduced Voli, his own line of premium, low-calorie vodka, and a entered into partnership with Sheets, the dissolvable energy strip. He has also launched his own Polo Grounds Music/J Records imprint (Mr. 305 Records) and inked major sponsorship deals with blue-chip brands Kodak, Dr. Pepper, Bud Light and Mr. Worldwide.

This week's powerful "Spotlight Segment" features the moment of a lifetime for 13-year-old Tayla Kelley, as she performs to "Bulletproof" with "DWTS" pros Lacey Schwimmer and Chelsie Hightower. Born with Primary Immune Deficiency Disease, the Rochester native has spent her entire childhood unable to fight infection, which has led to multiple surgeries, organ failure and shortened life expectancy. Despite these insurmountable odds, Kelley has found inspiration and strength to fight this severe, chronic illness through dance since age 2, and was recently recruited by the Timothy M. Draper School of Dance the training school for the Rochester city Ballet.

By Tuesday evening's end, one couple will be eliminated from the competition, as determined by a combination of the judges' scores and viewers' votes for Monday's performance. Who among the four remaining semifinalists will leave the ballroom floor and who will make it to the finals of "Dancing with the Stars'" most competitive season ever?

    * KIRSTIE ALLEY, television and movie star, and MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY
    * CHELSEA KANE, Disney star, and two-time champ MARK BALLAS
    * RALPH MACCHIO, movie star, and KARINA SMIRNOFF
    * HINES WARD, Super Bowl MVP, and Season 9 champion KYM JOHNSON
Here's the press release. While I still have a hard time believing they'll really only award 15 bonus points to one couple, and give the others nothing, that's exactly what it sounds like will happen with the "winner take all". So I guess Kirstie and Ralph should sit that round out, as it won't matter. They don't stand a chance against Chelsea and Hines. Maybe the judges will surprise us and give it to Hines. Well, there's already a lot of people online not happy, so I guess that'll just add to the conspiracy theories of rigging if it goes to Chelsea/Mark and gets them into the finals. It'd be nice if it backfired and one of the producers chosen ones got sent home in favor of Ralph.

Looking forward to seeing Drew/Cheryl That was a freestyle. I think I read on Anna's twitter that Damian would be back performing on the results show this week. Glad the show hasn't completely dumped him. I'm surprised Tony hasn't been back for any result show dances. Anyway, seems like we're seeing more of our pros in these numbers than most seasons I can remember. I still think the dance troupe is pointless.

    Re: DWTS Media Thread

Karina explained the cha cha dance off in an interview. I still don't like it. According to her, they pit the 1st and 4th place couples against each other, then the 2nd and 3rd, then I guess whoever wins each round against each other. The dances are 45 seconds. She didn't specify that only the winner gets points, but that's what it sounds like. 1st and 4th? Really? Nice seeing you Ralph They really do want Mark in the finals. If he loses, I can live with that. It'd be worth seeing him go all spastic and thinking he's got the victory secured, only to have it snatched away. I don't even think Mark will act surprised at winning, and Chelsea will probably give a fake pageantry reaction.

I guess the producers are just to make the sure the "best dancers"/ratings grabbers make the finals to compensate for Bristol last year. Put it in their hands and they'll do what they see fit. I think they need to revamp the judging panel/scoring more than anything. I hope Ralph hangs on. I'll be voting like crazy for him this week. So I'm guessing Chelsea in 1st, possibly Hines (and whichever one of them isn't in first comes in second), Kirstie third, Ralph fourth, and that'll be how the finals shape up. To finish off their "most competitive, even, unpredictable season ever" they need the two highest scorers in the final 2. And the standard Hough/Ballas win.

Regarding the "winner take all" cha cha challenge, I'd like to know when the producers came up with this idea.

One could imagine they came up with it before this season to respond to feeling that fan votes played too much of a factor in deciding the outcome of who made it to the finals. This approach wouldn't negate the fan votes, but would at least protect 1/3 of the remaining stars--in theory the best couple--from elimination.

Or maybe it was decided recently specifically to protect Mark.

It is a pretty straight forward fact that someone must know, and will explain the motives.

Last week when they said there would be a winner-take-all 15-pt cha-cha dance off, I figured that's the point margin they figured Mark & Chelsea needed to overcome the greater popularity of the other three. I don't even feel like watching any more. I like the fact that the judges have some say, but if they're going to ask for the public to vote for their favorites, then they shouldn't give the judges' scores so much weight.
