Gosh, even with the highest scores of the night, what if Sabrina gets the boot next week? Will we have to hear about the
"Second most shocking elimination ever in DWTS histoy" for another 10 seasons??

I can't comment too much about Sabrina's performance. I saw about 15 seconds of it, got bored and switched over to The Voice. I kept switching back and forth. lol She just doesn't interest me.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one on here that isn't crazy for Gilles. I didn't understand the adoration the first time he was on - he strikes me as a bit "smarmy." Now I'm actively disliking him more each time I see him. The comments on here sum up my feelings exactly: he acts entitled and like he's "all that."
Does he not understand what a team captain is for on a group dance? His job is to help pick the people on his team. I'm sure the pros accept and appreciate input, but what I saw of Gilles is that he seriously planned to be in control of the whole thing. I loved Maks telling him to stop talking!
I've never been Derek's biggest fan, but he always pulls out great choreography and his team dances have been no exception. The other team dance was a hot mess in comparison - and I may be old fashioned, but I don't appreciate moves like Gilles speading Peta's legs and looking at her crotch. Not funny to me.
I know most on here will disagree, but as we say in our house, that's why they make so many flavors of ice cream - we don't all like the same thing.
Gilles got all sulky in the corner when Maks took control, I think, he thinks he is at a pro level, and he isn't. He has a lot to learn, and dare I say - he looked a bit scrawny in nothing but his towel. He actually looks better wearing a suit.
I don't think you are old fashioned, that whole looking at Peta's crotch, as was noted up thread, was gross. Not funny, not needed.

I'm glad I am not the only person who is a member of the "I am so over Gilles" fan club. I got over him last week during his Bollywood number. I honestly just wanted to reach through the TV & just tell him to just go away! I have never been one to waste my time/energy by voting but these past 2 weeks I used every means possible to vote for Shawn. While I have a limited amount of patience for Derek, I am loving him with Shawn. Their Rumba was wonderful. If you could lip read CA after their Rumba she said "that was amazing" so why deduct for a non-lift???
Didn't they call Chyna Phillips the "most shocking elimination ever"???

I rewatched the two group dances with the sound off, mostly because it was so early in the a.m. and I couldn't sleep but if you do that you will see there was absolutely nothing to the second team dance. It was just nothing. No synched dancing or dance moves period just a lot of posing and silliness. The first group dance should get the high score by a mile. It had much more professional quality and the dances actually did something. I did not like that Gilles took off his towel and had on what looked like a pair of underwear. You could def see his package as they were so tight. I did not like that for prime time TV. WTH? What was up with that terrible dance and why did it get such a high score?
I never got the Gilles love either. He still does nothing for me as a tv personality or man. He's not particularly attractive to me and his personality is a little flat. And, looking at his partner's crotch was completely uncalled for, childish, and crude. He IS, however, a really great dancer. I didn't watch much of his first season, but in watching this season, his talent can't be denied. He really does have a natural gift.
In my mind, Derek and his sister have been the most talented dancers/choreographers to ever appear on the DWTS show. I've always felt bad for Derek because his sister has gone on to have so much fame. I would be sooooo jealous! He does have sort of a flat, quiet personality, but there is charm in there, I believe. FOr a time, I thought he was trying to play to the camera to get the audience on his side more, but it seems he's toned it down and is just being true to himself. Or so it seems.
The only dancer I don't like and wish would leave is Karina. She seems nice enough, I suppose, but I always sense that she relies on her sex appeal to get air time, but it just never works. I'm feeling really bad for Apollo because it's clear he and Karina have no chemistry.
Random thoughts:
Of course the gymnasts are going to get high scores but this is a dance contest. Carrie-lift queen does not seem to have a problem with them, nor does Mr Follow the Book Len. Professional ballroom does not include back flips and cartwheels. I am over the gymnasts.
I am over Gilles too.
I would love to see Melissa win.
Kirsty is the lesser dancer there but I would not mind to see her survive Apollo. Just not into him for some reason.
I adore Derek. I am not sure how much fame is sister has. As Ryan's beard perhaps but I hear little of her music.
Peta looks good with the minimal makeup she wears in rehearsal.
Cheryl needs bangs or would benefit from going back to her shorter hair style.
All the women looked terrific in those bob wigs for that lame group dance. In defense, what a horrible dance to draw. There is just not much one could do with that.
I wish they would put subtitles telling us who the audience members are they feature. I know some, of course, but I would like to see more shots of the audience when they are walking to the judges table.
I am tired of the jive 50's retro has been overly done. The malt shop costumes have got to go.
That is all for now.

Regarding the lunacy, hot mess, disjointedness and general "WTF?!?" that was the Team Gangnam dance . . .
In comparison, I think, we've been dealing with lunacy, disjointedness, hot mess and general "WTF?!?" from this show THIS season, and in seasons PRIOR to this one.
And NOT just on the DANCE side . . .
Here are a few examples --- just from THE LAST PERFORMANCE SHOW, ALONE --- that I think might illustrate what I mean:
LUNACY - Melissa had, what? SIX leg lifts in her tango last night? Peta had FOUR in hers from the night before. Len called Peta out about hers, but NOBODY said a WORD to Melissa about hers? Sure, Melissa suffered an injury (which the judges --- Len, CA --- mentioned). But, you snark one night on something, THEN don't do it the second night in a row? Insane. A second example: CA calling Derek out for a lift that was actually a CATCH? Huh? I OBVIOUSLY missed SOMETHING there, but I'm still trying to figure out what that something might be. Lunacy at its finest.
DISJOINTEDNESS - CA knocking Sabrina and Louis in her critique, but STILL scoring their dance a 10? She started at "A", but winds up at "Z"? Weren't there a few letters missing in there, somewhere?
"WTF?!" - CA telling Apolo and Karina that there was something "off" about their dancing, but not elaborating to them OR to us WHAT she was talking about and meant. Just went ahead and scored 'em, instead of giving workable notes that they might use to try to correct this problem? WTF???
HOT MESS - Len snarking at Tom "You keep your witty comments to yourself!" after Tom just made the observation --- and not disrespectfully, at all --- that Melissa had been taken away in an ambulance just two days before. Tom DID handle his business and cleaned up Len's hot mess by firing back "That was more of a factual comment in an attempt to find your beating heart!" Len shut up and left Tom ALONE after that. But then again, why should Len have even gone off at Tom like that, in the first place? For NO good reason?
The Team Gangnam dance WAS a hot mess. It was disjointed. It was lunacy. It was "WTF?!?" pretty much straight out of the gate.
AND I STILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Hot mess, disjointedness, lunacy and "WTF?!?" notwithstanding, it was also pure, unadulterated put-'em-in-straitjackets-and-call-the-funny-farm-wagon FUN! It was colorful, bouncy, and crazy. I've seen other team dances on this show that I adored and STILL do. But THIS one takes the absolute cake for being a complete and utter howl from start to finish, strictly for Yours Truly. I don't recall EVER seeing something THIS fun and nutty on this show before, from a dance team.
And I figure that if I can (and have) put up with the unfairness, insanity and snarkiness of The Stooges for as long as I've chosen to, then why can't I just give myself over to complete chaos on the dancing side of things and enjoy the hell out of it, for once? And, possibly, the only time it might happen?
They weren't trying to be ballroom perfection. They were trying to entertain, for once, outside of a regular season-end freestyle, team dance with a more normal song, or special dance (i.e., lindy hop, or AT, for example).
Which I appreciated, and enjoyed just as much as I did Carson "dancing" to "Moves Like Jagger".
I WILL note that I could've done without Peta's handstand and Gilles' looking down at her crotch. Twice. But, then again, I could've done without Derek sticking his face in Shawn's cleavage (!?!), too. However, I survived THAT, as well, so I'll survive the Team Gangnam dance, also.
Please don't flame me.
JMHO.
